Fun period so far.

Loved Engelland stepping up on Eakin there.

Wideman needs to go to the quiet room. He must have a concussion.

Everytime Wideman touches the puck I always fear the worst happens. Right there I feared that he would score on our own net in the dying seconds.

Not a good period. We'll take a 0-0 tie after the first, though.

Go Flames Go! After yesterday's debacle I am very happy the game is scoreless after one.

Scrappy 1st period for the Flames. Need to pocess the puck a hell of a lot more though.

Flames supremely lucky they are tied. Crap, the Stars sure upped the intensity the last few minutes. Way better at the faceoffs tonight too. Cross your fingers they can start to push back a bit next period.

He made a couple great reads including reaching around Eaves and stripping him of the puck without taking a penalty.

Ramo continues to remind me of Kipper with those pads. And played well to boot. Rest of the team struggled. No sustained pressure in the last 10 minutes and very few shots or chances. Meanwhile Dallas had multiple opportunities.

Agree, however this is kinda difficult when we either a: frantically ice the puck, b: try a stretch pass every time we break out or be c: pass into a high traffic area only for our forwards to get their pockets picked. You'd think they'd have addressed this by now.

I'd like to see:

Brodie - Giordano
Smid - Hamilton
Russell - Engelland

Dallas beating the Flames at their own game. Flames sending the D in deep, but they can't maintain possession so Dallas using the stretch pass to break out. I like the energy and aggressive attack but the Flames need to dial that part back a bit in the 2nd.

Seriously.

Great stick work and positioning, used his body well and didn't chase the puck carrier.

You're not gong to win every battle out there, the important thing is to keep your head and force the low percentage play.

Yikes...
Dallas with 80 CF%. Dominant period. Ramo is going to be earning his paycheque tonight.
