Flames came out like this was a shinny game at the end of practice. The peerless work ethic that the Flames had last year is pretty much gone, they're not that much fun to watch this year because unlike last year where they worked their a%%es off win or lose, there's too many stretches of dis-interested hockey.
While I believe the nucleus is there in terms of building blocks, there are way to many players that are just happy to be in the lineup.
Getting blown out by the Canes is completely embarrassing and a low point to the season along with losing to the Oilers.

Flames were dominating the game until a bad penalty

I know it sucks watching the team lose, but it's the best scenario. Keeping this team together and squeaking into the playoffs sets us back for seasons going forward. This group would get destroyed by the Kings and we would have to get through them.

I would argue it's a bit of both.

No. Flames dominated the third, down 3-2, then a bs scramble goal the other way on Carolina's only chance and game's pretty much over.

The power play actually had a really productive stretch when they put Ferland in as the net front presence. The Fan960 crew was talking about that before the game. Ferland goes down and the power play looks inept again. Could be coincidence or maybe having that big guy screening the goalie who can't be moved makes a bigger difference than some of us would think.

Flames seem to be finding ways to lose while playing decent games.

Knowing the Flames, they'll probably beat the Stars. They've played most of the top teams well this year. Win 1, lose 1, win 2, lose 2. This is a .500 hockey club which isn't good enough to make the playoffs and unfortunately not likely to get you a top 5 pick either.

Good luck with that. Those 3 coaches are pretty tight as a group, which has caused other issues previously. But yeah, if the Flames were even 20th in the league on the PP, it would have a few more wins, and games like tonight are 4-4 not 5-2.

Omg Wideman, just stop missing the net and making bad reads and taking bad penalties. We're stuck with him for another year, thanks Feast mode!

Might have to buy Wideman out in the summer at this rate lol. That's possible right?
