If Treliving gets a 3rd for Granlund I'd consider it a win.

What about 2nd round pick and a prospect ?
|
Granlund is not Baertschi V2.0. Granlund's play isn't dictated by whether he scores or not. He is a very versatile forward for the team, playing regularly on the penalty kill as well as playing almost 12 minutes a game even strength.
And if he was Baertschi there's no way he'd get a 2nd and a prospect. We were lucky that Vancouver was desperate for younger players to offer a high pick for Baertschi. I doubt we'd get that lucky again. I think his trade value is lower than what it is to the team at this moment.
Edit: I think right now Granlund probably gets a third round pick. And I'm not sure how interested Minnesota would be right now. Seems like they could use a top 6 right winger

Minnesota has a pretty set roster, but good news, they may be in the market for an upgrade on the bottom six left wing (Chris Porter) or 4th line centre (if Stoll goes down) role. In other words, a utility forward.
What comparable players do the Wild have to send us? Christian Folin is a right handed D that played decently as a rookie last year, but is an AHLer this year. The 'Two Years Ago Kenny Morrison', soon to be surpassed by Mike Reilly and Gustaf Olafsson. They also have Jared Knight on right wing in the AHL. Remember Jared Knight? Always liked Knight as a slightly more talented Josh Jooris.

What suburban outlet mall did you find those two players in?
Jared Knight is 24 and just got demoted to the ECHL. Why would the Flames be interested in players like this at all?

HNIC:
Lightning made an offer to Stamkos just above an 8.5mil AAV
Senators looking at Drouin
Senators don't want to give up Ceci - which is a major block
Senators can't add much in salary either
teams being told Galcheynuk is not available
number of teams want Byfuglien as a rental, but being told Jets will make a push to re-sign him

Long way around saying that there's not much of a market in Minnesota for Granlund. Jared Knight! Of Jared Knight fame. He can have the 11:40 sports slot vacated by Lansberg and Toth. Nighty Night with Jared Knight, Sports at 11:40.
Where I can actually see Granlund (or Backlund) going? Carolina. They must be freaking out being in a playoff race with their lineup, and if Staal leaves, it's time to load up on centres.

Garrioch "rumors":
http://www.ottawasun.com/2016/01/23/...de-jared-cowen
pretty difficult to move Cowen with his contract in this environment
Senators could buy him out for one-third of the remaining deal, but that won't happen
more than a passing interest from a couple of teams in Cowen who believe he can become a player
Murray is open to offers for Cowen, but won't give him away
if Cowen is moved it will happen at the 11th hour before the deadline
until then Cowen needs to play to see if his trade value will increase
ideally the Senators would want a defenceman who could play with Cody Ceci
unknown if Cowen could return that
Senators might go with a rental d-man if they are still in the race
reports that Lightning are looking for 2 top prospects - including Thomas Chabot - from the Senators for Drouin
that may be the premium price for Eastern teams as the Lightning would rather move him to West
the first ask was Cody Ceci

That's pretty much full value IMO. He'll probably get more in free agency but it will be an overpay.

I wouldn't pay $8.5 million AAV for Stamkos.

Yep, for $8.5M I want someone that's going to make the players around him better, and the past 2.5 years, that isn't Stamkos.

Toronto would crap all over their mended relationship with Dave Keon and spit on Tim Horton's grave if it meant getting Stamkos this summer.

I was curious what do you guys think Ramo's value will be at the trade deadline? Especially if Ramo continues to play well. Assuming the Flames are sellers, he could generate some interest. So would you trade him and for what return?

I believe in the Pony Power
|
His value? Nadda.
He's at best a below average starter. Most teams in the playoff picture have better #1s.

I'd hang onto Ramo until July 1st to see what's out there. He may be our best option or our last option for next season.

Likely pretty low to be honest. I'd say a third at most and likely closer to a fifth. Doesn't seem to be much of a market for goalies over the past few years.

The only way I see either goalie getting dealt is if an injury happens and the other team doesn't have faith in their 3rd string guy playing backup.
Hiller might be easier to move as a backup though.
I don't see more than a 3rd for Ramo or a 5th for Hiller being the return.
I think the Flames will go after Antti Raanta on July 1st (he's ufa). Played well with both Chi and NYR in his career. Could be a good option like Talbot was for EDM.

I would be incredibly surprised if they don't keep Ramo, whether as starter/1b/or backup. He's all they've got (even though it's not much) but the trouble is that there isn't much else out there.
