I am just trying to understand the motivation behind these moves. I have seen people counting foot traffic there before so it isn't as if the city doesn't know of the demand. Now, if you are not at the station at 6:30 am you are not getting a spot.
What is the city doing to encourage more people to take the train by making parking eaiser?
Thanks

Feeder buses operate in nearly every community in Calgary, including all those in the catchment area of Tuscany station.

People could also walk, cycle, be dropped off or take the feeder buses that service the communities and stop at Tuscany Station.

What's the deal with the parking on the east side of 1 St SE (southbound Macleod) between 11 Ave and 18 Ave? It just popped up a few weeks ago as being allowed except during the evening rush hour, but people aren't used to it and I saw what looked like a rear-ender accident a couple weeks ago - possibly because someone stopped intending to park around 6:30pm and the person behind didn't expect it.
Is it permanent or just a trial? I know it was supposed to be part of the cycle track pilot but it didn't happen - is it to get people used to not having a lane there? I think once they get used to having parking it's going to be a lot harder to take it out and put in a bike lane.

No I like Nenshi.
And if I didn't, I wouldn't think that a thread where I can get answers nearly from the source wouldn't be worth it. I would be here a lot more.
You need to challenge Nenshi! Ask good hard questions! Don't just go quietly into the night. Bring you're conversation to the table. A unchallenged leader is bad for everyone.
So it should be worth it!

I think you've already received a lot of good answers on this. Here's a look at the parking situation at every station ( https://www.calgarytransit.com/park-ride-locations) and a bit more about the parking policy ( https://www.calgarytransit.com/calga...rk-ride-policy). Ideally, Calgary Transit can provide enough feeder buses--or The City create more active transportation options--so that people don't need to drive to the CTrain station. Of course, that's the ideal, which is why there's 572 parking spots at Tuscany.

Also curious about this one - I live in that stretch so I've been experiencing it for a few weeks now. I like that there is now more on-street parking available for visitors to my condo tower and I agree that outside of rush hour it's not a huge problem to lose one lane of traffic but I think it was a huge mistake to start the parking at 11th Avenue. There is typically a large number of people looking to turn left onto 12th Avenue so right now they tend to line up in the left lane, see the parked cars, either cut into the next lane or try to drive alongside the parked cars, then try to turn left out of the second lane. If they took out parking for that one block I think it would help immensely.

I suggest calling 311. They can have one of the Roads folks give you a call to explain/discuss. (Of course, this also means I don't know off the top of my head.)

Great development for Kensington Road.
http://www.kensingtonlegion.ca/264-T...rd-Oct2015.pdf
I agree if own a home behind or across from the development you probably arent happy and this wont make your life any better. For everyone else other than the 20 or so max properties, its looks great.
Scroll to the bottom to see the emails/sound off submissions. Very funny ready.

Agreed, it is a great development and an excellent execution to help the Legion out.

We must present an intelligent & well-managed energy product. That cannot, and will not, happen w/o access to tidewater

It's actually a pretty good move. Mayor Coderre is going to get crucified by everyone with a hammer and nails so she may as well lay the groundwork with an 'undecided'.

Gotta celebrate in private first. Then issue a lame-duck "Oh well, what can you do" public shrug and presser.

I can be critical of Nenshi for certain policies and things he has implemented but I have to applaud him here. He is showing more leadership than the premier of the province has since she was elected.

Is it really necessary to close all the parks at night that currently get closed? I'm thinking of Edworthy, which would be a nice place to go for auroras/eclipses/fireworks etc. after 11pm.
