So uh. 2016 draft, is it considered deep?

He's thinking that he could use one of Puljujarvi or Laine.

Awful defense tonight. Back to the drawing board.

Goaltending wasn't the difference. I don't see how any goalie could save the third goal.

Like they did in December, a win streak could get them back in the mix. Not a pipe dream. Saying a 5 game win streak couldn't get them in the mix is false.

Jones is a guy who’s very useful on the PP, and as a one-timer man during sustained offensive pressure.

Not sure why he’d be used with the net empty, though - his skating just isn’t there.

Bennett quickly becoming our 2nd biggest offensive force.

Hudler looked slow and invisible again. Blah.

Frolik has been awesome since his return. One 2nd line LW/RW spot is sealed up longterm with him.

Backlund looked strong again. Granlund okay. Raymond I'd rather never see again. Not sure why Hartley was moving Jones up the lineup and Ferland down the lineup, it should be the reverse. Don't understand why he took Ferland off the Gaudreau line. Don't understand why he split up Bennett-Backlund-Frolik when it had been our best line lately.

Wideman looked bad. It would be so sweet if we could somehow move his contract.

Smid looked great again. Shame this guy has been scratched as much as he has. He could play as a #5 on a lot of teams with the way he's playing.

Gonna be interesting to see what they do when Bouma is healthy. Granlund down makes some sense. Waiving and demoting Raymond makes the most sense to me but somehow I don't see them doing it.

Our playoff chances are slowly flushing down the toilet.

I'm all for missing the playoffs and getting a good pick as long as the canucks aren't there either.

I wonder how many complainers are getting quoted from this forum, on the other boards' 'around the league reports'

Shots even. Chances even. Just because a goalie doesn't play poorly doesnt mean he can get outplayed by the orher goalie. Which is what happened tonight. Stats don't lie.

Yuck. I know there's still lots of hockey left to be played, but unless the Flames go on another 8 game winning streak, I think it's safe to say they're done as far as playoff hopes are concerned. If they can somehow go 3-0 to finish off this road trip, then it might possibly keep them afloat. But this season is basically a write off at this point.

Yep. Looks EXTREMELY promising at the top end. Lots of size and skill at forward and defense. Several potential superstars IMO. And with the new lottery, we'd get three chances at a top 3 pick no matter where we finish out of the playoffs

It’s Auston Matthews, mate

Get used to his face, because he’ll be in Calgary Edmonton for years to come.

Colborne really showed what he's made of tonight. Complete lack of heart and determination and really troubling coming off a couple health scratches. His career in the NHL is almost certainly over very soon. All the tools and no toolbox.

Flames were badly outplayed the first two periods. Hiller once again is garbage and was lost on every shot.

These losses don't even bother me as I'm more focussed on the draft than caring about beating the Devils in January of a down season for the team. What does bother me though is how bad the defense plays for this team at times. I'm excited about the prospect of adding one of Puljujarvi or Laine to the team but the GM has to have a talk with his coach this offseason in regards to special teams and defensive play as the coaching staff has to bear some blame for this season as they haven't got the job done.

This should've happened like...yesterday.

Instead Hartley wants to spread out the offense. One offensively dangerous player per line so he can have a reason to keep rolling all of them.
