To me DeRozan has got to stay otherwise you blow the whole thing up and we'll be terrible for the next 4-5 years, so I'll take his word that he's loyal to the Raptors. I'd offer him the max or maybe a lower amount because you're allowed to offer him 5 years versus 4 years.

There is absolutely no way KD signs in Toronto without both DeRozan and Lowry around, but if you sign Derozan things start getting interesting. They won't have salary cap space for KD, but 20+ other teams will. I'd start working the phone lines to trade Valancuinas and Ross for future picks and it's not like those guys aren't worth anything either. Of course if you know you won't be able to sign KD you keep Valancuinas and Ross roll with what is currently the second best team in the East.

Either way Derozan stays and the Raps continue to build to something.

Biyombo
KD
Carroll
Derozan
Lowry

One can dream

Nice win for the Raps in London. OT win and the sellout crowd got their money's worth. Hopefully the trip was fun and relaxing for the team.

Jimmy Butler with 53 points and 10 rebounds tonight. Last pick of the first round in 2011, pretty much everyone could have had him. He's turned into quite the two way star.

Warriors up nearly 30 in the 2nd quarter against the Cavs. Spurs-Warriors next Monday could be the most anticipated regular season game in a long while. Of course it's on NBA TV....

Crazy to see a team with the championship playing with a chip on their shoulder like the Warriors are playing tonight. They're playing like they are the ones that lost in the finals last year.

The Cavs also have serious issues (like no bench and no defense from Kevin Love). The Raps need a move or two and they can definitely win the right to get slaughtered by Golden State or San Antonio.

Yeah, tough call. Really the only upgrade that improves the team right now is bringing in a better starting PF, but who is available and what does it cost? Salary cap increase means few teams will be selling for cap space.

I'm okay with the Raps rolling with the current roster, unless a great trade appears. They aren't winning a championship this year anyway, so give this roster a chance to win a couple rounds.

NBA TV is free, if you are signed up for the "Shaw Friends" loyalty thing. Or at least it used to be. I used to watch it all the time.

It's crazy to think this especially after the contract Love got, but the Cavs best shot at winning the championship may be to play Tristan Thompson more and Love less. Love is such a big liability defensively that he's hurting the Cavs. At least with Thompson you can good defense and some contributions offensively, with Love you get absolutely nothing defensively and if they don't use him it's almost completely pointless to let him play.

As for the Raptors, I don't think they'll be catching up with the Cavs anytime soon. They still have some statement wins they have to make against the Bulls first.

Raptors are sure taking care of business lately. They've won six straight and now own the second best record in the east. They are also 27-15, which is the same record they held last year at this time. Of course they year they've had a much tougher schedule to this current date.

I'm hoping both Lowry and Derozan can make it as allstars, both players are very deserving.

Always been more of a Lowry fan than a DD one. Mainly because DD would take one stupid shot after another and was hopeless in the clutch. Plus played very mediocre defense. Always had to give the guy credit though that his game got better every year. One thing at a time. This year he finally seems to have worked on his brain. He is passing more often, taking better shots, not whining about contact on his drives and even playing better team defense.

Just seems like a some kind of synaptic reaction went off in his head and his BB IQ expanded.

So what's the deal with this 4K broadcast TSN is going on about? I missed the game, but it's my understanding none of th cable companies even have a box that will push that signal out, so does 4K even mean anything for a Raptors game.

You must not be watching Flames games then because Rogers has been advertising it a ton.

I don't watch most of the home games as I have season tickets. I didn't watch the NJ road game on Monday.

Question still holds true. What does it matter? Cable boxes don't pick up that signal.

So basically Fiver Optic providers? If so, Telus can't be far behind. Shaw may need to get with the times.

Rogers has had 4k boxes for a couple months, and Bell just launched it this week.

So going to be pretty slow adoption into homes.

Bell and TELUS tend to use similar hardware so if Bell has it, it is likely that TELUS will be following soon.

I always tend to laugh when they hype stuff that really no-one in Canada can actually take advantage of at this point.

Glad to see Lowry get voted in for the second consecutive year. Really improves Derozan's chances of getting in the game.
