Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Tom Coughlin is withdrawing his name from consideration for Eagles HC job, per sources. Not the right fit.

49ers one of the few organizations more dysfunctional than the Eagles. And Baalke one of the few executives that is worse at player evaluation than Chip himself. Sounds like it'll end well.

If history is any indication, Chip will be gunning for Baalke's job next January.

Baalke fired Harbaugh and destroyed the 49ers team and still has a job. I don't think there's a more invincible GM in the league not named Jerry Jones.

At least if they keep Baalke in charge, they won't cut all of the good black players in favour of WRs who can block.

Not a surprise at this point. Him not having a lot of experience scares me.

Dirk Koetter's contract with Bucs being worked up tonight, per source. Adam Schefter first reported Koetter becoming Tampa Bay's new coach.

^^Well at least the Eagles no longer have the most uninspired coaching hire title for this year.

Keeping Koetter is all about Jameis. Uninspiring for sure but all he needs is a good DC and he can do fine. Glazers are wholly untrustworthy when it comes to coaching hires though.

this hiring reminds me when the Chargers hired Norv so that he could develop Rivers... they had some decent teams in those years but were wasted by the poor coaching... Chargers have always found a way to make the wrong choices

But Norv was a retread. Koetter at least this is his first go as a head coach in the NFL. It's better than Lovie for sure but we'll see how the team is filled out along with coaching staff hires. Lot of work to do even with a potential QB in place.

Plus we still have the Titans to go and they'll be scraping the bottom the barrel at this point. Wonder if they're waiting to go after McDaniels.

yeah. Lots of news stories speculating about how they'll get along. Prickly power-hungry GM who favors power running game with huge road grader linemen vs. prickly power-hungry coach who favors hurry-up offense with light agile linemen. Somebody's going to have to give ground, here. And, who is going to run the defense? That is a big question, yet to be answered.

Titans to hire Mularkey as HC per Schefter. What is that ownership group even doing?

Eagles officially hire Pederson as head coach and sounds like Frank Reich and Jim Schwartz as the coordinators.

Strangely, I am ok with this. I never liked the way Chip did things and Pederson should be a 180 on that. I really like Schwartz as the DC and he has a lot to work with there. The Eagles D was better then they appeared or the numbers showed. That crappy offense just wore them out.

Now we just need a QB.

I'd be fine with Lynch at 13 or trading down for Wentz.
