Have to say I'm more interested in quantity than quality in this case.

Interesting that the driver isn't isolated from the front car passengers anymore. I expect a lot of people will feel safer on the train at night now.

They look cool, but I'm not a fan of not having any poles by the doors. That's always been my biggest gripe with the LRT.

There should be something to hold onto if you stand close to the doors like the yellow ones shown in the picture. Instead, now you going to have people reaching over everybody and some people will have nothing to hold onto. Yes, it happens all the time when it's crowded and you have people flopping all over the place.

Maybe they didn't install those because they want people to move inside more. But people are dumb and don't do that all the time.

Yeah its especially an issue when a bunch of shorter people end up in the 'entrance way' by the doors. Not sure why they didn't put something, even if they just hung a few straps from the ceiling.

I would have- if people would quit clouding the issue with logical explanations.

I understand why the bench seating is necessary, but personally I still hate them. So much cuddling. At least it's just a solid bench, and not "seats" (that nobody can fit in) as they are now .

Is the "cuddling" not unavoidable, regardless of the seat scheme? You could have the ones that face each other like the oldies, you still have to sit beside someone, and have the added bonus of being knee-knee with a stranger while trying to avoid eye-contact.

Outside of a bunch of individual fold down seats that are 6 inches apart, or no seats at all, there really aren't any other options.

Yeah, I don't know how much the designers of these things can or should do to address social anxiety. You're on crowded public transport - seeing, touching, making eye contact with strangers, touching icky things that other people have touched, etc. is part of the deal.

The old ones were way worse. You get two tall people sitting across from each other and you end up in a scissoring situation where you are tickling your fellow transit rider's scrod with your knee.

What they should do is include more leaning spots. The best location on the train is the middle section where you can lean on the wall.

The newest ones are the most cramped by far. Unless you lean forward awkwardly you are literally shoulder to shoulder with the people on both sides of you. I find it uncomfortable. Last gen is the best for sitting. The oldest gen is not bad, sometimes you play footsies with the person across from you.

It is a good spot. But it looks like it won't work with the newest ones.

They never had enough to hold onto if you weren't on a leaning spot and had to stand in the part that rotates.

You sound so creepy whenever you talk about taking transit.

This is just a function of the faux seats they have there, which are ridiculous. They don't let you create your own space, you have to sit in the allotted spot. Just a bad idea. Straight bench seats will have people mostly sitting where it's comfortable.

Now I am sad haha, but I understand why they did it.

It's a good core exercise to stand right in the middle and try to balance yourself for the entire ride!

Absolutely. That's my go-to spot even when there are lots of empty seats.
