Five years from now, if we put all players drafted in 2012 together with all players drafted in 2013, and rank the the top 10, I'd be surprised if more than 2 players from 2012 make that list. And they would probably be 9-10.

To be fair, I'm guessing that Hamilton told Boston that he wanted a trade, like Drouin, and that if that was not the case he would be with the Bruins right now.

Talk about your overpaid guys, that Bickell contract is a disaster. Can't see anyone taking it on for free. 4M (4.5M real money) for another year .... and he has a NTC??

What about Jones for Bickell with Chicago retaining a portion and a 2nd round.pick from Chicago. I would do that.

Eklund garbage for the day has an E4 for RNH/Hamonic blockbuster...

Also has the Flames as a favorite for Bozak at this point amongst several teams that are viaing for him.

I wouldn't mind a Bozak/Hudler swap, 3 more years of Bozak who is amazing at faceoffs and a right hand shot up the middle which would be awesome.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Ferland
Bennett - Bozak - Frolik

Thats a steady top 6 IMO.

Leafs shead salary and get a guy in Hudler who they could reup to play with their young guys like Nylander/Marner.

Win win!

JVR- Stamkos- Hudler top line next year would be pretty beast for Toronto.

Backlund needs to go the other way. Monahan likely gets a $6.5M contract this summer then we would have Monahan ($6.5) Bozak ($4.2) Backlund ($3.4) and Stajan ($3.1) up the middle. Way too much cash up the middle and no sign of Bennett being shifted to centre for a couple years

Not a chance. 2nd isn't worth that cap hit. Luckily Jones will be off the books after this year.

If we take Bickell then Raymond has to go the other way. If not him then Smid

I definitely could see the Oilers involved in a major deal to find a good dman

However that type of deal (above rumor) doesn't make sense in my view.

Then a Stajan/Hudler deal for Bozak would work out pretty good and there is tons of familiarity there for Toronto who could use some leadership going forward past this season.

I think having Monahan/Bozak/Backlund would give us one of the best groups of 200 foot game centers in the league. Bennett jumping in when needed and learning the wing at the same time wouldn't be bad for his development and at some point he will just take a center spot and one of Backlund/Bozak could slot nicely on the wing.

I hope this Bozak rumour has more to it then just eklund fodder.

Don't believe how good leaf players are. When you have every national media pumping up the tires of those players. They seem better than they are. Hopefully brad trev. Doesn't fall for the hype.

I agree he would be a very nice add and is proving that his stats are not a product of Kessel as he has 27pts in 38 games this year.

I just can't see the Leafs trading him for 2 30+ guys in Stajan and Hudler. They could flip Huds again for a pick but Stajan just does nothing for them. Maybe we include Granlund as well so the rebuilding Leafs get a piece that makes sense to their situation? Stajan+Granlund for Bozak?

This. Toronto also has a way of making bottom six centres look better than they are. Matt Stajan was a 50+ point C in Toronto.

So true. Someone has to get points on bad teams, too bad Sutter couldn't see through that for some reason. I'd be shocked if Bozak came here and he was anything more than 30 point player.
