Default QOTD: How will the Flames fare on this 5 game road trip?

The Flames looked great, or the Panthers looked awful on Wednesday night. Or perhaps a bit of both.

Either way the Calgary top six looked as dangerous as they have in years, which is sure to give the team some confidence on this trip.

But how will they do?

The club has 40 games left and needs to be roughly 7 games over .500 as a projection to make the playoffs. 24-16 would get it done, but that certainly suggests the team can't afford any rough 5 game segments.

The next 5 gamer are all road games and the team likely needs to win 3 of 5 to get the ball rolling (8 5-game segments would be 8 games over .500 with 3-2 records in each)

So how many points do they get on this road trip?

Bonus question of the day ... how many points does Bennett pick up on this road trip?

Voted four because I'm pessimistic.
A lot of these games are very winnable though.

I think the Flames go on a roll here and take 8 or 9 points on this five game road trip. Hoping for wins against the Oilers, Devils, Blue Jackets and Hurricanes at least.

Bennett plays well with 10 pts (6 goals and 4 assists) over the five games.

Flames don't play the trap style overly well (i.e Devils, Jackets). Will be a tough trip.

Oilers - Win
Devils - Loss
Blue Jackets - OTL
Hurricanes - Loss
Stars - Loss

All the odd number responses are wrong. If it gets to overtime, Johnny will win the game.

I optimistically predicted 8pts. I will remain positive the Flames have a big second half and make the playoffs. This road trip is big and they won't disappoint

Hard to predict. They've been bad since the home win streak but that win streak was recent. If they can win a big one against the Oilers Ill say they win 4.

Why?

Flames away record places them in the bottom three in the league....

Devils, Dallas and Canes all have better records...

Flames need to win against the Oilers and go from there.....

Flames are in a funk and I think we pay the price on the road trip.

Oilers - SOL - Meh
Devils - W - They'll rebound big time with a solid 60. Cammy puts up points for the Devs.
Jackets - L - Jackets seem to take it to a lathargic and unprepared Flames team when we go there. Have a feeling history repeats.
Hurricanes - W - Rebound again, score a bunch early.
Stars - W - Emotional late comeback to fuel them to a strong run leading up the all star break.

Who crafted the Flames schedule and did they fail North American geography? What a brutal trip.

I think the Flames will come out with six points. Would have originally guessed seven before the Oilers game.

New Jersey and Carolina have been better recently. I'm thinking 5 points

EDM - 1
NJ - 0
CBJ - 2
CAR - 0
DAL - 2

That's being slightly optimistic. Entirely possible that they drop the Dallas game as well.

I completely agree. It's funny how Carolina seems more scary than Dallas. But Dallas is still scary too.
