Listened to insider trading on tsn. Bob Mackenzie speculated on the Blues Lightning trade and said it could include a goalie going both ways and Shattenkirk.
Fabbri, Shattenkirk, Elliot
For
Drouin, Coburn, Bishop?
Would be a blockbuster with the Blues landing a star goalie as well. Tampa adds a huge piece on the back end

Tonight was the 4th straight game without a point for Drouin in the AHL. Value dropping and dropping and dropping

Hmm, would Bennett go 4 straight games in the AHL without a point? I don't think so.

Exactly. This is why I think Yzerman is feeling the pressure to get a deal done sooner rather than later. What if Drouin plays out the rest of the season in the AHL and puts up 0.5 points per game? I would think his value would be much less after a season like that than it would be if he was traded right now. If the package from St. Louis that was mentioned above is close to it... I think Yzerman would be wise to take it at this point.

PS I would love drouin lol

To answer your question, I actually went ahead and checked every game log that he recorded an assist in. It tallied to 8 primary assists versus 9 secondary assists for a total of 17.
In comparison, Brodie had 8 primary versus 10 secondary for a total of 18.
Comparison in itself doesn't mean anything in the big picture of things, but goes to show that while Wideman's play has been relatively poor, he's still picking up points as an offensive guy in a scoring rut.

He finally notched an assist in a 4-2 win for Syracuse over WB Scranton over the weekend.
Even still, 2-1 in 6 GP is not a statline that is going to garner much attention from any NHL GM.

^At the same time, 2-1 in 6 GP isn't going to kill his value the way some fans wish it would either.
At this point, every team knows Drouin is a bit of a project with huge upside. A couple bad games in the AHL will no more change than than a couple good games would.

I think at this point, teams are more interested in seeing how healthy Drouin is, or if he is not quite 100%. Having a less than expected stat line may hint at an injury that is not quite 100%, though I am sure there are physicals he would need to pass to complete a transaction.

It's a tiny sample size. But unfortunately, that's all people have to work with.
A question that has to be asked when evaluating Drouin is: how much do you think his current situation is team-centric (and he just hasn't cracked a strong lineup yet), and how much is it Drouin-centric (not committed to learning, isn't progressing, or whatever)? And of course, how temporary/fixable are the issues?
How he plays in the AHL - not just points, but his play overall - is definitely going to affect opinions on that question. He has been removed from the coach and (somewhat) from the situation, and has been put in a situation where he can just play. Of course GMs are watching. It would be obtuse to suggest otherwise.

BREAKING NEWS Strong source confirms Habs making a huge push today putting a more significant package on table to acquire Drouin
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
. @BWildeCTV reports MTL pushing hard to make Jonathan Drouin trade with TB. My take on that is as follows:
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
MTL one of handful of teams with serious interest but it's near impossible to handicap frontrunner/timeline. Only Steve Yzerman knows that.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
MTL's Rick Dudley was in SYR on Saturday watching Drouin. Today at 3:05 pm ET, SYR and Drouin are playing the Rochester Americans.

You would think Montreal would be the absolute last place Yzerman would want to send him.
And thus the Habs would have to pay a premium over other teams.
Galchenyuk on pace for only 48 points (I think most would call that a bit of a disappointment for the 21 year old)

Why would Montreal give up a guy who had 46 points last year (in his draft year +3) for a guy who can't even crack an NHL lineup at the same point of his career.
They are only a year apart in age so it's not like Drouin is much younger and has way more potential that Galchenyuk.

I have heard from someone very close to Drouin that Anaheim, St. Louis and Montreal are the three teams he's heard. I posted last week not to count out Montreal.

Because he's french.
Only half-kidding of course, but it wouldn't be the first time Montreal has acquired management/coaches/players with this as a major factor.
Not only is Galchenyuk better/more proven, he also plays a premium position whereas Drouin is a smallish winger. If it were any other team, I would say no chance, but it's Montreal, so...
