He would not look bad. NHLer. Slow and fun 3 on 3

The people complaining about Scott being in the game grind my gears.

Bull. The people who voted Scott into the game are not the people buying the tickets, they are not even hockey fans. They were bunch of trolls on sites like reddit who thought it was funny to screw with the NHL. Now the NHL has screwed them right back and I love it, good for them!

Non-fans wouldn't go out of their way to do this. If there are, it's an extremely insignificant amount. Or maybe I'm just underestimating how dim people are.

You are. People love to "stick it to the man".

Anyone who was or is outraged by this situation on either side needs to re-evaluate outrage !
The NHL is pretty bush league for treating one of their employees this way. It's not like there is 1 player per division . There's 13? Do people really think the 6 Scott shifts were going to matter ?
On 3 on 3 he would be just fine . Heck he may be the only player not drunk or hungover for the game

I never watch the ASG, but I was planning on tuning into John Scott. I suspect he's actually pretty good at the skills comp. There's that piece of hockey science where Laraque was sniping past a sumo wrestler goalie, so Scott could probably handle the 4 target competition.

My favourite part of this story is the fact that no one is even questioning the idea that the NHL called up Maloney and told him to trade Scott to Montreal so that they could ship him off to St John's as punishment for not refusing the ASG invite.
This big 3 team trade was orchestrated entirely to put John Scott in his place.

Who is it going to hurt to have him there?

Posters on an internet message board apparently. Booooourns. I actually thought it was cool that Scott's family was going to attend and they'd have a life long memory to share years from now. But now people who don't even care about the all-star game can sit smugly in their chairs with the satisfaction of knowing the big ''ogre'' wont' even be there. They guy isn't at fault AT ALL for what happened, but he was making the best of it. This has got to be pretty embarrassing for him and his entire family.
NHL is a joke.

So he's voted in and as per jagr he could have been suspended if he didn't go. Then Arizona asks him not to go, but his mind is already made up. Then he gets traded and becomes ineligible. Haha wow. None of this is on Scott if you ask me.

Either you have online voting for fans and stand by the results or not.
I guess that will be the end of fan voting.

I just hope that the Drouin deal is big enough to send another allstar to a different division. I couldn't possibly care less about the ASG, but watching the NHL fall all over itself to get out of jams it created is incredibly entertaining!

It was lame that people campaigned for him to be in the ASG in the 1st place. Now I can enjoy the ASG for what it is, the best players in the world playing 3 on 3

Lets hope so. I have no faith in my peers to vote for the most deserving players. If I wanna go see scrubs play 3 on 3 I will go watch rec league hockey.

I love it when trolls get trolled, kind of poetic justice. If they keep fan voting, I hope they narrow down the selections. I think they'll just have the writers or some NHLPA committee pick them.
Either way I'm happy Scott won't be playing because he's just a no talent goon who doesn't belong in the NHL. The guy is wreckless, careless and just a flat out bonehead. Someone with that many dirty plays doesn't belong in the NHL let alone the allstar game. Glorifying someone like that is the exact opposite of what the allstar game is about especially if everyone wants to take dirty plays out of the game.

To avoid this again, the NHL just needs to create a restricted list for fans to vote on. I don't know why would be stupid enough to not do this year after year

As opposed to OEL's family, Doan's family or Domi's family or whatever player (who is an actual star) takes his place?

People who actually care about the game aren't the ones who voted him in. The people who wanted to make a mockery of the AS game are his primary supporters.

What's embarrasing for him is having to answer questions every day about how it's a big joke that he was voted in even though doesn't have the talent to compete. The trolls who voted him in didn't do him any favours.

That's bull####. The NHL needs to pull its head out of its ass. The fans want John Scott, they gave us the vote, we picked Scott, give us Scott.
