Finished the series. Won't speculate either way on Avery, but based on the evidence (or lack thereof) presented in the documentary, no way in good conscience could I enter a guilty verdict. Avery deserves a new trial.
There are just too many details, that have been mentioned many times in this thread, that really didn't receive the attention they should have. The investigation, as portrayed in this documentary, was a joke.
Dassey, on the other hand, get that guy out of jail. What a horrifying situation.

For the record, I also think he probably did it. I think Brendan, however, was innocent. If Brendan did play a role it was much smaller than the one he was convicted of and probably limited to disposal of the body. Generally, from what I've seen people are upset about so much about Avery being innocent or not as they are about the multiple and obvious miscarriages of justice and the implications on the judicial system.
Also, the above interview was conducted by Nancy Grace. She's a former prosecutor with a long history of distorting facts to fit her agenda.

Maybe hes not a nice guy, maybe he just really didnt like her, maybe he did kill Theresa, but the fact that this person ate rat poison really doesnt answer any relevant questions.

I still haven't made it past episode 6 (the wife doesn't want to continue watching as she feels too bad for the family).
While Avery's defense counsel seems on point, how did they allow for two members of the jury to be related to police officers? What happened there? Seems like a big gaff.

Its a small town.
What I dont understand is that Avery was suing Manitowoc County Sheriff's department, that department was not allowed to be involved in the investigation which they did anyways and no one said anything.
Why in hell was the trial in Manitowoc county at all?

Combine an unreliable witness with Nancy Grace, a former prosecutor with a reputation for bias, and you have a recipe for an extremely biased interview.

It certainly is filmed and presented in a way that puts Avery in a good light. I feel that the film makers consider him not guilty/innocent. It really comes across as an opinion piece and not a documentary.
That being said I am enjoying it, and what foresight to think of filming this over 10 years. Brilliant.

No I got it. He always says 'huh' or 'ah' after 'yeah.'
But yes. I ruined the joke. I sit in box for 2 minutes and feel shame.

It is an opinion piece. At its core anyways. But I found that the opinion was that Justice was not done rather than any opinion on Avery's innocence.
Take Avery out of the equation, was this a miscarriage of justice? Was it a fair trial?

From what is presented, no it doesn't appear to be a fair trial. Was it a miscarriage of justice? Not as much as his first time, if I am being honest.
I might change my opinion in the next 2 episodes, certainly my opinion between Avery and Dassy is different.

For those who have watched the show, there is a follow up right now on HLN called "Caught on tape: Steven Avery Guilty?" Showing a bit more evidence from the case and more from the prosecutors side.
It's on again later for people who want to see it.
