Calling all Flames fans in Edmonton for ticket help!
Hi all,
Going for a little road trip with a few buddy's for this weekends game vs the Oilers and was looking for some assistance with tickets. I have searched the usual sites like stubhub, ticketmaster, NHL ticket exchange etc.
Does anyone have any contacts on where to get reasonably priced tickets? Some of these prices being quoted are flat out insane for the garbage product that will most likely be served up on Saturday by the greasers.
Thanks so much

If you're feeling lucky, wait until Saturday. Visiting team ticket holds are usually released sometime between noon and 1. As soon as it happens, the Oilers Twitter account mentions it.
And even if tickets appear to be scarce or non-existent shortly after that, wait around as often a lot people will go to the checkout screen but then end up releasing the tickets anyway.
Generally, the closer you get to an event the cheaper tickets get (not always, but usually). Often, secondary market sellers will sell you a ticket even though they don't in fact have them. They plan on picking them up much closer to the event date for a much cheaper price.

Thanks for all the help everyone! I ended up getting a relative decent deal all things considering. Going section 118 (Flames attack end twice) row 18. Got them off NHL ticket exchange as they were listed for $200 ea. Of course by the time your done with this BS "service charge" it was $245 ea.
Some of these prices were like $150+ for nosebleeds. The prices on Stubhub, which are in USD almost made me want to throw up. LOL.
I have seen a handful of games in Edmonton and its always the same tune, small selection left for crazy prices. I do hand it to the fan base there, they pay dam good money to see that disaster of a team up there year after year. I am a dire hard Flames fan but I don't know how much $$$ I would be able to shell out for seasons tickets year after year with the results they have seen up north.
The Flames market is vastly different I find, much more corporate with plenty of handouts being given and free tickets. One of the biggest things these days is companies giving out free tickets to lower tiered employee's who wouldn't normally get the companies seats. This way the executives and VP's who frequently get these tickets don't need to worry about expenses at the game. Dinner+ drinks in the club section could easily run $1000 if your drinking a fair amount for 6 people.
In any event hopefully a good game and we pull out the win!

Hope it's okay to piggyback on this thread -- was thinking of making the trip to the game in April. Are the nosebleed seats (300 level) pretty much the same as the 300 level at the Saddledome (rows 4 and up)? Both in terms of quality of view and likelihood of having beer thrown on you by drunks?

Pretty much yah. Although I enjoy the 300 level in Rexall slightly more than at the saddledome.
Mind you its been years since i have been to the Rexall 300 level so the memory may be skewed.

That dump is way smaller than the Dome. Its the first thing that stuck out at me when I went to a game there a few years ago. So the 300 level are a lot closer to the ice than it is at the Dome.

I'm also doing the trip to deadmonton this weekend and still trying to find tickets. The prices are ridiculous for such a garbage product but I guess Saturday night hockey does that. Do they have any forum board similar to calgarypuck that would offer tickets at a reasonable price. I looked at hfboards and on the Edmonton page there is a sticky for tickets but usually only 1 or 2 people post tickets for the game. Kijiji has better priced ones then Stubhub and ticketmaster but I can't meet up to get hard copy tickets and I wouldn't trust email transfers with random Kijiji users.

Just so everyone knows a Facebook page called Edmonton Oilers buy and sell is a good place to look. Many people sell tickets on there, also if anyone finds a good price on a collection of seats and they don't want to split them up, I would pay for 2 seats possibly.

I find for Edmonton the ticketmaster resale is your best bet.
Keep an eye out and look at all tickets. Eventually you will get some good priced seats.
Kijiji is also good but I wouldn't buy unless in person and hard copy.

I have sat up there a few times due to the cost being somewhat reasonable. Like I said in an earlier post I just can't believe I was paying over $100 for a nosebleed ticket to a regular season game for a team with a horrible record. In any event the size of the arena is smaller and if I had to guess the first 10 rows or so of the "300 level" would be a viewing distance of the last few rows at the top of the 2nd bowl at the Saddledome.
It's a decent experience and the hard core Oilers fan due make it fun to go back and forth with.

Still on the search. Almost got a pair in flames attacking zone in 200 section for 75 each, but I was about 2 minutes late. I can't believe some of the prices I'm seeing, I refuse to pay more than 100 each for 200 section.

Same here, hard to find decently priced seats up there.
Is it shadier buying kijiji tickets up there than here?

No, as long as you take the same precautions as you would here.

I have a pair for sale in the ticket forum. They're expensive, but below face value. $500!for the pair...and I'll buy you a beer at the game!
Row 4, 114. Flames attack end.

I seen 2 different sellers in the same row of same section. One selling for 80 each, the other for 150 each. I mean that's just ridiculous no matter what the circumstance.
