Watching teams carry puck around for the last 5 minutes just trying to run out the clock is not something I value watching when I have to get up for work the next day at 6 am.

Had it been Edmonton or Vancouver I still would have stayed for a 5 more good minutes of taunting their fans, but we are talking the Florida Panthers here.

See I disagree.

I have been at the Dome for a lot of poorly played games by the Flames (hello 90's).

Anytime there is a good game played or blow out by the Flames, I am staying to exorcise the ghosts of the past.

You missed bennetts 4th goal beauty, his first star, and post game interview. That's why you should have stayed.

Hiller and Ramo for the rest of the season could accumulate shutouts and lead the league in goals against for all I care. I still wouldn't bring either one of them back next season.

So who would play in net for us next year?

someone else... You hope that management can either trade for a better goalie or sign a different goalie but I agree that neither guy should be back next year. I'd try to get Andersen, maybe Raanta or anyone else really.

Don't ask me. Ask Treliving as that's why he gets paid the big bucks and I imagine he's got a list of options that he will pursue. I can't pretend to know what he's discussed with other GM's and what is available to him via trade but I'm sure he's got irons on the fire. I wish Ramo, Hiller and Ortio all the best in their hockey careers I just don't want them to be a part of the Flames after this season (maybe Ortio if he agrees to play in the AHL). Nothing personal but this is by far the biggest position of need for the big club and none of them have shown to be the answer going forward.

Agreed with the final statement. So many people leave to get out of the lot early, it blows my mind. I rarely, if at all, leave early. Plus, Bennett deserved a standing ovation for his performance. One of the best performances by him and the team in general and you leave because they choose to control the puck and want to get back to Bridlewood early or something? Weird thing to complain about.

Bumping this thread to post this chart.

Ramo's been approximately league average for the past 25 games. This is to put it into context to people who think he's been amazing. You should take a look at these other 15ish guys being even more amazing then.

Really wish we took a chance on Dubnyk when we had a chance... when I saw there was a chance I had suggested it but then he was gone. Not saying he would have produced identical results but I really thought that he got a bum wrap in the Chuck.

If he can play average for rest of year I am ok with that. Unless the Flames are able to find a guy who is an undisputed number 1 ready to play 60+ games, I wouldn't mind seeing Ramo back at backup money. Even if they get a true number one, they will still need a veteran backup of some type next year. It's not Hiller or Ortio.
