Not much going for the Flames this period.

Flames are pretty tight defensively though, Panthers getting most of the possession but not many chances.

A 5 goal lead is pretty safe to coast on most nights. I think they see there's not much fight in the opposition tonight as well, so that adds to it.

Flames are short-handed and Brodie and Gio both go on a 3 on 2 rush
Love it!

I like Hiller being pissed off. If that's what he needs to get back in the groove I'm all for it. We need the competition between goalies that we had last year, each goalie trying to best the other.

That Florida PP looked like one of those Flames deflate PPs from past weeks.

I hope Hiller does win a few and get a bit of a run.
Because that's only going to make Ramo more hungry to get back in and keep the net when he does.

Flames in turtle mode, short shifts. These are the third period Flames of last year and they're going to score #6

I don't like seeing players whine but I had no problem with his comments. He didn't say anything bad about anyone else, or that he deserved it more or anything, just that he's frustrated.
He should be frustrated and pissed off. And he should channel it into his play.

This. He didn't say it wasn't fair, someone else doesn't deserve the playing time, etc.
Anyone would feel the same

That's why I'm annoyed. It's not the fact they're losing, it's because nobody will have seen what the Panthers are capable of and they'll all assume I'm out to lunch when I say good things about them.
It's like an Eastern reporter watching one Flames game where they don't play well and writing them off for the rest of the season. That would annoy you too, right?

That's how real life is. You can't convince everyone. But it doesn't mean you should start banging your fists over it. If the Panthers were complete rubbish, then they wouldn't be atop their division. Any half objective hockey fan wil admit that much.
HOWEVER in a lot of the games I've looked into that the Panthers have won, it seems they're routinely outshot/chanced, sometimes by a wide margin but manage to squeak it out on the scorboard. Seems theres a bit of the 14/15 Flames effect going on with them. Opportunistic but beat in the advanced stats.
But I don't care about advanced stats, so props to them.
I still don't see them as defensive juggernauts as you seemed to claim in the GDT.
