This is one of the cool things about the FA cup, but this isnt even Liverpool's 'B' team, this is the Reserves. I guess we'll see.
It gives a good shot to some of the youth.

The kids seem to be acquitting themselves rather well so far.

I enjoy watching the earlier rounds or at least having them on in the background. Such a joy to see and hear the smaller grounds across England where, sometimes, most of the village show up.
It would be pretty cool if the Voyageurs Cup had a pre-qualification round where senior teams around the country played a regional knockout to get a chance to qualify for the Cup proper. Imagine a club from CUSA hosting the Whitecaps at Broadview. It would easily double the amount of people in Calgary that actually know about the Voyageurs Cup.

I especially like the hastily erected bleachers and lights and the really half-assed, last minute advertising boards.

I like the pitch that is about the same quality as a school field! Its hilarious and awesome all at once. I had to look: this version of St. James Park only holds about 8000 people. That's awesome. If you're an Exeter supporter would you be disappointed that you don't get to see the full roster of Liverpool here, or thrilled that you get to see them at all and have a legitimate chance of winning?

Probably stoked at the prospect of winning.

That direct corner goal by Exeter was sick. Like inch perfect under the bar and in. I mean Bogdan has to save it still, but it was a very good kick.

There we go, I was getting worried we'd get through a game without an injury to a CB.

It was very good, but theres a reason those never go in when you're watching professionals. That should be a goalkeeper's ball all day.

Sometimes a great play needs a bad play to make it work. Also would have helped to have someone covering the back post and not the near post. Obviously easier to attack a ball going forward than peddling back.

And Brad Smith looked to be nursing a calf injury as well but is toughing it out because we have no more subs.

Very true, 'perfect football' is boring, but still if the ball is inswinging that much the goalkeeper should be collecting it.
But I'll take the draw with the reserves, they looked pretty good. Put Mignolet in net and that would have been a win.

favorite part of the early rounds of the FA cup is that the highlight show on the BBC uses all the local radio commentators, some of whom really view it as their big chance to shine and make a step up so a lot of the goal calls are incredible

A nice dive by Memphis to get the penalty, but that was a bad challenge and it was contact. Van Gaal breathes another day.

Yeah. Contact and a dive.
Good result for United's rivals. Another dour, uninspiring performance that gives zero hope that things have changed yet the result ensures Van Gaal stays for a bit longer.

Spurs got away with a draw today but it wasn't deserved. The "hand ball" penalty to tie things up was a brutal call. It seems to be the same old story for Tottenham here; they come out and look great in the first half. The other side adjusts and they lose in the second half. The only thing that saved them and kept them alive in the FA Cup was the call at 88 minutes.
So next is Leicester on Wednesday on BPL, then ten days away they meet for the third time to see who moves on to round 4.

Don't know why Lloris was sitting
Okazaki's first shot would have been parried wide not right back at him
