A pessimist would say that his offensive numbers are boosted because he is paired with Jake Walman; one of the best, if not the best, offensive d-men in the NCAA this season.

^Andersson I believe can also go to AHL next year.
Gilmour/Kanzig/Rafikov/Ollas-Mattson could all benefit by going to ECHL imo. That's where I'd put them.
Kylington/Andersson/Morrisson/Kulak/Culkin/Seiloff/Wotherspoon in the AHL.
Nakladal with the Flames.

That's basically Wotherspoon now inst he? This is 3rd full season down there. By the looks of it, he will be there next year too. Kenny Morrisson will probably develop into that as well.

That's not really the same, no. I'm taking about how teams like to have one or two forwards and d that are around 30 on am ahl contact to show the kids how to be pros

Will be certainly interesting to see what the Flames do with all their D next season. Especially with 6 NHL D already signed, and the notion out there that they also have interest in bringing back their only UFA in Kris Russell.
1. Wotherspoon (RFA)
2. Nakladal (RFA)
3. Kylington
4. Kulak
5. Culkin
6. Sieloff
7. Morrison
8. Kanzig
9. Andersson (Potential for Junior again)
10. Gilmour (Done college)
11. Ollas-Mattsson (Could come over from Europe)
12. Rafikov (Could come over from Europe)
Quite a log jam.

Is nakladal really going to re-sign with us if he never gets a chance in the NHL this year?

None of us here would know. And there's a lot of season and post-trade-deadline where we may trade a defensemen so we don't know that he won't get a chance. If he's good enough that they should make room for him then they likely will.

As FDW said, there is plenty of season left.
If the Flames don't give him a chance before the season is over then they have totally dropped the ball (unlikely), or they have already decided there is nothing there (unlikely).
I would expect we see him after the trade deadline.

Additionally, I could see the Flames deal off Engelland and/or Smid retaining 1-1.5 mil of their contract for next year. Each guy would be enticing to teams as a quality #6.
It is entirely possible that the Flames move more than 1 D-man to try out Nakladal + Kulak/Wotherspoon.

The full article is behind a paywall (ESPN insider), but Craig Custance is looking at team prospects division-by-division and here is a brief snippet from the Pacific Division:

Sounds like Arnold is injured
Scott Linesburgh @ScottLinesburgh
Arnold of @AHLHeat goes down during play and seems to be favoring his left leg. He's helped off the ice.

Not sure I'd consider that a log jam for Russel's spot. Maybe Smids, but not Russel's. I'd say Kylington, Kulak and Andersson are the only ones with #4 defense potential and none of the above have the ability to step in there right now.

Janko seems to be fading on the stats a bit. Anyone watching the games able to see if he is still playing really well?
