Immigrated here with my parents from Germany in '92.
Half of their friends moved to Tampa and the other half moved to Calgary and my mom can't even remember the reason as to why they picked Calgary but here we are. All they knew about the city was from the Olympics. Apparently they were less than impressed with the new home they picked from the air. Must have flown over Edmonton first and got confused.

Still have and wear that stretched out old disgusting toque every now and then.

Old school?
My mom did that to me last year...

Born and raised. Been here since 1974.
Still kick myself to this day that I didn't try living in Australia for a couple of years. Had dual citizenship to boot.

The fam didn't really come here until I was born in the early 80s. Lots of moving around for a few yrs after when I was young, but we came back in '89 and I was raised here.
I moved away in 2004 right after the Flames run (thank Jebus I was still here for that), and returned in summer 2013.

Born here in 1971. I've been told my birth was the first time the father was allowed in the delivery room at the Foothills (mostly because he worked there and it was considered a high-risk delivery).

Moved here from hometown Canmore to go to UofC in 1997 and haven't left. Was born in the Banff Hospital because Canmore's was deemed no f'n way we are doing that again by my parents after my brother was born there.

I am a 2nd gen Calgarian- born and raised here, although I also live in Airdrie now so even though I count that as Calgary, some may not.

I'm a gen 4/5 Albertan, both families moved to Alberta early 1900's from Ontario. Born in Edmonton in '79 where parents were going to school at UofA. Moved to Calgary permanently in 1980. had a quick move to Montreal (St. Eustache in 2002 for 4 months to follow dream job as a racecar engineer). Hated everything Edmonton since that glorious departure. E=NG.
