Default Not Plagueis

Quote:
EW went on to point out that there is a lot of speculation that Snoke might end up being Darth Plagueis, who was mentioned in the prequel films, but Serkis confirms that he...

“turns out to be… just Snoke.”

Serkis says that he was aware of the events in the previous films and says that his character is a new addition to the saga. Serkis goes on to explain his character:

“Supreme Leader Snoke is quite an enigmatic character, and strangely vulnerable at the same time as being quite powerful. Obviously he has a huge agenda. He has suffered a lot of damage. As I said, there is a strange vulnerability to him, which belies his true agenda, I suppose.”
More will be revealed regarding this character as the story arc for the new trilogy continues to play out. I’m very curious to know Snoke’s story. I’m sure whatever it is, it will surprise us all, unless the information leaks out early!

I can't wait for the next one. I can sense an internal dilemma between plot brevity and movie length. There were a lot of things left out and I would have been fine watching a 3 hour movie if it was good, but being Disney they probably were mandated to keep it to a maximum length. Hopefully they release extended editions that are considered canon because that would be cool. Another half an hour of story felt missing from the movie imo; more at the beginnging, more with Mas, more with Leia, more with the starkiller (they came up with a plan to defeat the largest weapon ever in less than 30 seconds).

The starkiller part was the weakest of the movie, it was dispatched of with so quickly and had no real sense of foreboding despite the fact that it destroyed multiple planets. Atleast with Han there was some sense of loss, with the Starkiller it was a big meh.

The back story is that he was probably around during the Clone Wars as an unseen character and maybe became a family friend of the Solo's and corrupted Ben from in close before defecting to the First Order.

There are several rumors of Hayden playing Anakin in flashbacks in the next movie, maybe Snoke turns out to be a Jedi Knight that worked with him.

But recycling a villain that was mentioned for 6 seconds in the ROTS doesn't make a lot of sense and the casual fans won't care.

There is also a rumour that Snoke was one of the 5 Muun bankers that was embezzling credits in The Clone Wars (Season 5).

One thing is clear, is that the scenes with Snoke were some of the worst scenes in the movie.

Just to poke fun at how similar Star Wars TFA was to new hope, I created some speculation of the next movie. I've put it in spoiler tags for those that don't want to read it

Spoiler!

I had forgotten how bad most of those special edition changes were. Disney could make a lot of easy money if they paid that harmy guy and released the despecialized versions as the final edition of the original trilogy

I think I've still got the original originals sitting in storage on laser disc.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did just that...

While packaging them into a 9 movie box, so that you'd have to buy the prologue garbage with them.

I'm willing to bet that Lucas is petty enough that not releasing the original theatrical releases on Blu Ray was part of the sale agreement.

Can confirm. I had no idea who Plageuis was prior to this thread, as is 90% of the stuff discussed outside of the cinematic universe in this thread. I even had to look up what EU and OT stood for lol.

Adjusted gross doesn't work for a lot of reasons, mainly the difference in entertainment competition.

Internationally, Avatar did 2 billion dollars. I doubt that Star Wars will come any where near that. I wish boxofficemojo tracked weekly box office drops for Avatar but I can only find the domestic numbers.

There's been rumours that they're trying.

From what I've read there's issues with Fox having the distribution rights for the films.

A few articles on the subject:

I didnt really like BB-8. How does he get any traction on slippery surfaces? How does he go up stairs?

Hes no R2-D2, at least R2 could fly and stuff.
