I think RG3 is ahead of Manziel on the wishlist.

Go Seahawks! The Vikings are a great matchup and I wouldn't be surprised with a Seattle Arizona NFC final.
Also, how did the Niners become such a joke franchise?

i dont see anything special with the vikings, if the packers were playing remotely well, they would have lost by 21. Seattle wins next week by 14 minimum.

Why would Dallas want this gong show? Why would anyone?
On top of this the Browns fired their coach and GM tonight and also finished with the worst record in the NFL yet again and still don't get to pick 1st as the Titans get that "honor".
The next head coach will be the 10th since the Browns re-entered the league 17 years ago. He will have no QB of substance, no RB of note, a defense that ranks in the bottom 5 in the league and an owner who hasn't a clue how to stay out of the way.
What a mess.
|
to add to this.
Browns have fired five coaches since any other team in the AFC North has replaced a Head Coach.
Also, no GM of the new Browns has lasted more than 3 seasons, with the team now looking for a fifth GM since 2009.
and also, in six of the past eight seasons the Browns have played the Steelers in their final game and lost all six games. After five of those six losses/seasons, they fired their head coach.

The Oilers look like a well run franchise compared to the Browns.

While I'm happy to see the Vikings make it to the post season, I don't like their chances against the Seahawks. Still, the Vikings aren't going to roll over and die here. AP is hungry, Diggs was a rookie revelation and the D has held the team together. Bridgewater can play better. I want it to be a good game regardless of outcome.

Of course the Eagles had to win yesterday and completely biff their shot at getting a decent QB in this draft.

Speaking of QBs, I talked a while ago about how this was going to be an interesting offseason for QBs with a lot of unknowns to be worked out. So with that in mind, here's how I'd asses the AFC first...
NE - Set, obviously
MIA - New GM/coach may want to move on from Tannehill. Average starter at best
NYJ - Fitzpatrick took them as far as he could, be he's not the answer. Neither is Geno.
BUF - Taylor is on a very cheap deal ($1.13 million per) until 2017. He's likely entrenched
PIT - Set
BAL - Flacco's cap number now hits $30 million +. I expect they draft a QB high in the draft and are open to trades
CLE - Josh McCown!
CIN - I suspect Dalton is safe but if McCarron plays great in the playoffs and they get some wins, who knows?
OAK - Set
KC - Set...but probably need to start looking for the long term replacement
DEN - Messy. Benching Brock might push him out, but noodle arm is finished too.
SD - I gotta think they're going to trade Rivers. Team needs to be blown up
IND - Set
JAX - Set
TEN - Set
HOU - Might be SB contenders with a good QB. I suspect all FA QBs will be angling to get here

And the NFC...
WAS - Cousins is a FA. I imagine he gets tagged at worse.
NYG - Interesting situation. Eli makes a lot of money but is not a great QB. Maybe a new coach/GM want to move on
DAL - Future home of Manziel or RGIII
PHI - Bradford I assume is gone. Messy situation
GB - Set
MIN - Set
CHI - Will obviously be looking to dump Cutler again but doubtful they find a partner. They'll probably draft a QB
DET - Again an average or so QB making a huge cap number. I imagine he's safe though with Caldwell likely back
TB - Set
CAR - Set
NO - If Payton leaves, I gotta think they try and trade Brees and reboot.
ATL - Ryan is overrated but I don't see them walking away yet
SEA - Set
ARZ - Set but I see them drafting or acquiring a young QB to develop.
STL - Ugly.
SF - If Chip's the coach, Kaep's the QB. Otherwise, ugly as well.

I wouldn't count on it. Cutler just had his best statistical season in terms of consistency under Gase and Loggains. Also his contract is about to fall out of the top 10 paid QBS in NFL, which makes his contract not quite so bad.
Watching the Bears games this year, they have far more issues than at QB

Brady has a sprained ankle. Expected to be ok in two weeks. If the Pats were healthy, I think they are the only AFC team that can challenge CAR or SEA.

I dunno, the playoffs are wide open this year. NE limped into the playoffs at 2-4, they're not exactly peaking at the right time. I'd have to go with the Steelers, Bungles with Dalton, or Broncos and their D would be my choices. I don't trust Reid with KC and Houston is there by default.

I don't buy that there are any legit franchise QB guys in this draft, it's not a big deal. Address the Online and look to next year for a guy.

It's pretty amazing that in the NFL there is no draft lottery and nobody tanks. Everyone played pretty hard yesterday.

Only thing that might help is Edelman's return. Their total absence of a running game hurts big time. Brady will gut it out, not worried about him.

Plus the draft is more spread out in terms of value.
Teams draft for need since players are expected to contribute right away, and usually the difference between drafting 1st and 5th is quite minor, especially in a year with no big name QBs at the top of the board.

Yeah, right after the Saints got eliminated they decided to win their final 3 games to drop out of the top 10. Last year specifically, they were sitting at the 7th pick in the final week, and were getting crushed in that game. They end up pulling off a crazy comeback and win, which dropped them to the 14th pick.
I love how they don't quit, and you never want to have that Oiler mentality. But it would be nice to actually have a top 10 pick one of these years. Especially with the team in rebuild mode lately.
