That 4th goal is entirely on Barrie.
He bobbles the initial pass to him on the boards where there was no pressure, no one on him, and then he skates himself into a tough position and tries for the long cross ice pass. Ferland and the entire rink read that pass and Ferland steals it, Barrie gets undressed by Ferland at the blueline, and then fails to backcheck on Backlund who pots his own rebound.
Barrie looked like Justin Schultz there.

|
The Flames are using 2 new offensive weapons, a chip and chase and the pass redirect. Probably practicing for the trap. Ferland and Bouma are excelling at chipping the puck off the board near the blueline, skating around the players to the middle of the ice and then beating them to the puck. Definitely adds a new element to our system and it's really really promising that the teams is practicing new strategies.

I couldn't even wait for four, I started actively cheering for him to score after our third. I really hope he gets it tonight, if only because it would be a huge goal to get to watch live rather than hearing about it and then watching the highlight. Not really an "I want it t be against the Flames", like some others.
