Apparently, Virtanen blamed the refs for the loss, despite the fact that a lot of the iffy calls went our way. Combine that with his meltdown in the biggest game of the year, and he's a Canuck, all right. All he needs to do is start biting and pulling hair, and they'll retire his number.

You answered your own question.
Your posting style alone is enough for me to cheer for Finland.

what? But that guy started it. I had not said anything negative about Canada in here and suddenly he said we swedes had big egos and think we're the greatest out of literally nothing. And it's not that the swedish team riled up the canadian team either.

I have to admit I've only seen one game by Canadian this year and that was against the US but I've been trying to keep up with the news and watched some highlights. It sounded like the Canadian best players didn't really show up in this tournament. They are supposed to be counted on to score or create offense but didn't. Also heard the Lowry just couldn't really figure out in who should play with who. Sucks that they are out already. When was the last time they didn't make the quarterfinals? Oh well, I got the feeling there are going to be a lot of changes next year especially the coaching staff.

Oh come on... you have been coming this site for years now for this tournament.
A lot of people here know your shtick, and a lot of them root against Sweden for no other reason except to spite you. That is what Enoch Root is getting at.

Because Sweden is a crap country with crap hockey players.
They are the Vancouver Canucks of international hockey.
Is there anything more aggravating than Swedish hockey?

If you have ever spent any amount of time in a Scandanavian country that shares a border with Sweden, you will quickly discover that this is a fairly common sentiment.

This is totally false and bunch of bs. Sweden is known for being a humble and friendly country.
I had no idea the hatred for Sweden was this big on this forum.

So I am organizing the annual Calgarypuck anti-Sweden rally tomorrow. Bring anything remotely Swedish (i.e. ikea furniture, swedish meatballs, etc) and we will burn it all in a big bon fire at Olympic Plaza.

I always like the swedes because when he was a Flame, Kent Nilsson was my favourite player. (still in my top 2 or 3 all time)
I always like the Finns because Kipper is also one of my favourite Flames all time, and I enjoyed Oli Jokinen as well.
But I really enjoy watching the Swedes and Finns play each other in international competition because they hate each other. The rivalry is one of the best in hockey at the current time.
Whomever wins the game will be in rough physical shape come the finals, because they'll be in a war in the semis.

I've always wanted to go to Sweden. I even took some Swedish lessons when I was in grade 12. Sweden seems super cool.
Actually all of Scandinavia seems awesome...just expensive!

Sweden is not good at hockey. They also harbor terrorists and Al Gore.
