I understand it's difficult to trust the word of an ex of all people but I'll just say I'm only here to help you get to the truth so this doesn't happen again.

Has Ian had any contact with you recently?

1) The scamming, did this start recently, and is it something he did often?

2) Was there some catalyst that started him down this road?

3) Was he ever really down on his luck as far as you know?

Thanks.

People always get amped up for internet lynchings and often take these things too far, impacting real life jobs, family, etc. But clearly thats secondary to some e-justice! Why leave things to the real police when you can go vigilante online.
Some of us here got conned into giving Ian some money. What we are looking for is reasons for why he did it and hopefully stop him from doing it to others.

Also, I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't had time yet to read through all posts on this thread (and I just learned about this investigation this afternoon) so just keep that in mind. Looks like I've halted the conversation on here so I apologize for that. If you would like to ask me anything about this situation please let me know!

The real police aren't going to do anything. Did he technically do anything illegal when it comes to the gofundme? Maybe, but I don't think so.

Everything that has been found today, for the most part he put out there himself using the same usernames. I hope no one is going after him outside of this thread, but it's not like it took any real tough investigating to find most of this info..

The ex has a right to clear up what he stated since his stories involved her.

I think we're going to need an organized and central list of questions, this 'everyone asking their questions in their posts' is getting messy in a hurry.

We dont want to turn into that steroids forum.

Couple questions already since you posted, refresh and should see through. The thread is moving fast and a new forum is always strange for someone new, no worries.

Can we mute any to and from Ducay conversations so as not to overload the new member with irrelevant reading and so she can instead focus on the important stuff??

Ducay, as one of the few others that was holding out hope that this was all just ignorance and stupidity as opposed to evil and malfeasance, rest assured that this is no witch hunt.

If you read all the rantings at the steroid forum, you will see what kind of person he is. You will also see that his people there turned on him for taking advantage of members generosity as well.

And we even have RTA here now to directly refute the narrative that we were given. For me thats important because I could somewhat rationalize the sloppy attempts at fundraising because it all still hinged on a guy that needed help asking for help. But when you learn that almost all of it was a total lie, it erodes that narrative and you are left with a pretty blatant cash grab.

I spoke with RTA on the phone earlier this evening and was the one that asked her to come on here and help put all uncertainty aside so that we can confidently say that what we have done is just. And while it may seem like vigilante internet justice, I think there is real value in making sure the next time he tries this, some quick googling will reveal the truth.

No need to apologize. Take your time. Forgive us for being a bit over-eager: we've been trying to answer some tough questions for a while now and we'd appreciate any light you can shed on this situation.

I did. My wife still had her on Facebook, so within a couple minutes we were chatting on the phone catching her up on all the drama.

Question to Squiggs and MMF: are any of the other forums aware of the simultaneous gofund me?

To clarify, is it just us viewing this thread? Or are there other forums too?

Thanks dobbles this must not be easy for you but you're hopefully helping others out there who are being looked at for his scams
