Kings Punish Flames On 1 Count of Regicide
Kris Russell Sucks. It was no co-incidence that our best game of the season came against the Blackhawks when he was out.

Treliving has to watch these last 2 games and realise how much work he has on his hands.
We have a solid core to build around, but too many are weighing the team down, all of them vets I might add. I like Hartley and think he's a good coach, but his insistence on playing the same under performers night after night is really starting to grate. Russell getting 20 minutes a night, Wideman on the PP time after time, Hudler still on the top line. Getting beyond a joke now. And what started the terrible 2nd period? Hartley starting his 3rd pairing defencemen. I mean, seriously, an idiot could see that was the wrong decision. You go 2-0 down, they get momentum and bang, it's 3-0.
Seriously, Treliving needs to start testing the market for Russell, Hudler and Wideman. I don't care about making the play offs so much, we need to get upgrades on these guys if we want any hope of competing over 4-7 games in a play off series with the likes of LA, Chicago and Anaheim. If we want ambitions about not being a bottom feeder every season, these guys need flipping. I want them all gone by the deadline, had enough of them.
Hudler needs to get his head sorted, if he thinks he'll cash in in the summer playing like his is now, he's in for a big shock. Glencross took it for granted and look where he is now. Nobody is paying Hudler more than $4m a year given his level of play this season.
We have a long way to go to get close to the Kings/Ducks. This roster needs some massive improvements. We're going in the right direction, but it's time we moved on from Wideman, Russell and Hudler. They are just dragging the team down right now.

I don't doubt Treliving is going to try and move those guys. The question is, is it better to get anything for them or do you need a real return? Is a 3rd pick better than having those guys for playoff run? What does it say to the team if you trade those guys for something that doesn't help or isn't a significant return?
As for Wideman, I think Treliving has been trying to trade him since the summer when his value was highest. The return just hasn't been worth it. That contract is terrible for a power play specialist. He is one of the worst defense men in his own zone. He has virtually no lateral mobility when defending and that short stick he uses neuters his ability to disrupt opposition puck possession.
