Ok, I will be the one to say it. Michael Backlund is garbage. He is not even good positionally in a defensive manner coming back. He kills offensive plays and is a turnover machine. I think he is actually worse than Stajan by quite a bit and Granlund is a much better option. I wonder if we could package him with something to bring something that actually helps the team before other GM's figure out this is as good as it gets with him.

Boy the Flames sure gave away the last 2 min of that period. Almost paid for it.

7 shots through 2 periods. 7. seven.
I will be very disappointed in the Flames if they don't come out absolutely flying in the 3rd.

Completely dominated.
Common theme right now on who is under performing. Colborne and Wideman are train wrecks. That being said - Hartley needs to respond to the ducks controlling the neutral zone.

One of the worst periods of the year.
The Flames looked terrible and the game is ultra boring. Need something, anything, to get them going in the 3rd. And Colborne needs to sit, he's the worst Flames forward by a fair bit tonight, he's been terrible.

Gross. Stop that freaking stretch pass and use that team speed to gain the zone, passing has to be way crisper, though.

If they manage to win this and extend the home winning streak, I'll start to get excited about the P word. Good teams find ways to get though these gross games. The fact that the Ducks are ONLY ahead by 1 is a minor miracle.

It feels like everyone is standing around waiting for Gaudreau to carry them on his back.

Bob should climb over and knock Boudreau out for this crap hockey.
Fat slobs sitting and waiting in the neutral zone. The amount of money fans must be wasting on seeing games involving the Ducks this season oughta suck for them.

Ducks just sitting 2-1-2 in the neutral zone. Know the Flames won't dump and chase, so just sitting and stick checking.
Get that puck behind their D!!!! Hockey 101..

Ducks are pressuring with two forecheckers, 3 sitting at the centre line. Calgary is leaving the defenders to try and handle forecheckers all by himself with nobody behind centre.
Stop trying the stretch pass, and look for give and go's! There's a huge gulf between the front forecheckers and the defenders. Need to attack with numbers. And, actually fight for the puck!
Hudler and Monahan have both been guilty multiple times for being ultra soft on the puck.

Forget trying cross ice passes in the neutral zone. The Flames just need to go right at the Ducks with speed - keeping it North-South.

The Flames do dump. They just suck at the chase part.

Said it last game. Backlund has not has his game rise to the level the Flames need of him. Time to give him a change of scenery. The Flames can do better.
