What are the chances that an organization that can't develop problem-free players can rehab a troubled one?

It's like taking your kid to a therapist and finding out his/her own kids are in prison.

Habs have ads on their practice jerseys? Do we?

So it begins.

Kassian and Hall were teammates in Windsor so it's possible Hall had some input on this one.

I found this to be a laugh. I think the only thing Hall has input on is where to go for drinks after the home games.

Dumb and Dumber?

My apologies to the dumb, but this is the first thing I thought of when I think of Hall and Kassian together.

And out of his wife's doghouse, though the move from Edmonton to Bakersfield was an upgrade already.

This is not a bad trade for the Oilers at all. Best case Kassian gets back to the NHL and finds chemistry with McDavid, Drasaitl, or Nuge and turns into a decent player. Worst case is he flames out and they let him go.

Habs could get the Scrivens from the Kings and early Oiler days and carry them until Price comes back.

2 waiver scrubs traded for each other good deal for both teams

Says something that you don't consider that "Reebok" to be an ad.

I hope the team will be a better influence on him and his extracurricular activities than vice versa.
Kassian was a lot of things in Vancouver, but making the Canucks "tougher to play against" certainly was not among them. He was polarizing: would frequently entice with his straight-ahead speed and fleeting flashes of skill, but was prone to a well worn pattern of bad plays, and incredibly poor decision making.

As for team influence, this is still the same group that was singled out by their current captain for clique-forming and disinterested play. The same group that has now run four head coaches out of town. If anything, I would say that Kassian should fit right in, but then this is not a good thing for any team that has an interest in culture building and winning. Zach Kassian is cancer.

They're grooming him for the GM job after he gets fired from the Head Coach job after he retires.

What does it say? That we're not talking about the manufacturer's logo? Because, yes, that would be true.

there were a few 15-20 game stretches where he looked like he was becoming a top 6 guy

the end of the 2013 and then for a period last year when they played him with the Sedins being the two biggest examples

just seems to lack consistency, which maybe was a part of his off-ice issues

plus a guy with his size and his hands, teams are always going to hope they are a late bloomer you get for cheap (Bertuzzi) rather than the bust who keeps busting (dozens if not hundreds to name)

but for just Scrivens, it's no real risk making this move for the Oilers

I watch a fair amount of Canucks games living in Kamloops and all, but I don't have one positive memory of him playing. I don't follow the team closely so I'll believe you.

As a whole, his resume makes this talk of him being a top 6 player head scratching. There was a poster a few pages back saying he's already a top 6. I can't see how

‘Reebok’ is a label. The manufacturer doesn't pay to put its own name on its products. Mind you, it's a big-ass label; those guys aren't going to waste a shot at free publicity for their own gear.

Dozens or hundreds to one? Yeah, the Oilers will take those odds any day.

Pretty sure a bag of potatoes could look like a top 6 guy playing with the Sedins.
