I think it's 43, but regardless...
That's 3.91 PPG from the D - for an entire month!

Brodie is tied for 18th among defensemen in scoring, but has played 812 fewer games (26 GP) than everyone else ahead of him except for Alex Pietrangelo (28 GP). He is scoring at a rate that would easily put him within the top-ten over a full compliment of games.

Brodie and Hamilton have really turned it on this month.
Giordano is looking great too, although my fear is that once again it's a result of Brodie turning things up to 11.

I also see it as Giordano finally becoming comfortable after a pretty severe injury last year.

I don't say this to disparage Gio, but I don't know how Team Canada could possibly justify taking him over Brodie.

That could definitely be it as well. He sure looks like he's shooting the puck better than he was to start the season.

Funny thing is you see Oiler fans point to the low points from our forwards but it's because of the style we play the forwards are covering more and don't get those opportunities as often as other clubs. Doesn't mean we don't have offense

My brother told me that there was some talk that McLellan didn't want to pull the goaltender and risk giving Johnny a hat trick. I doubt that's true but with just under 2 minutes remaining they had possession of the puck in the Flames end and I don't believe I've seen a team all year not pull their goaltender in that situation. Kind of bizarre the head coach doesn't even want to try to come back as it's not unheard of or anything and there's nothing to lose.

You would have to be no good to pull a move like that. I guess McLellan has completed and passed the "how to be a greasy Oiler" test.

I loved how none of the media fanboys dared mention it in the post game media scrum.

That first PP goal where he sniped it top corner on that one timer from Wideman was the Gio of old. He was extremely rusty but has now put himself back on pace for 45pts this year. If the team keeps playing at this rate he should get over 50 as the first dozen or so games he didn't do anything offensively.
The Flames D is really getting on track with 5 guys over 10pts already.

Great game! I really enjoyed the atmosphere.
I was in town for a week and my brother surprised me with tickets. My first live game in about 7 years!
It felt great to be in the dome and see the boys take apart the Oilers.
I've been a little jealous of everyone getting to see Gaudreau, Monohan and the boys live, and now I can say it really was a treat to watch them. Nice to be there for a record-breaking game too.
On to the next game! Go Flames!

If Brodie keeps this up, IMO, he'll be a lock for Team Canada's top six. He's been unreal.
Which lefties are ahead of him? Duncan Keith for sure. Who else?

That first Flames goal last night when he fed Johnny was just a thing of beauty!

I believe you mean Kevin Shattenkirk not Pietrangelo, but yes i get the 2 confused all the time too for some reason.

That's the understatement of the season. He was firing flubbers 2 months ago, that shot against Edm was a rocket of a one timer.
