According to Neal Scanlan who is the director of creature effects Snoke is actually 7ft tall. The hologram was just projected really large. I hope the CGI on non-hologram Snoke is near-impeccable. Nothing ruins a menacingly intended character than poor effects. Look no further than the Hobbits. We don't need another case of the Pale Orc. I'm sure it'll be good though.

So was the weakest scene in the movie on Hans ship with those monster things? For me it felt like for 5 minutes of a TV movie, something must have happened to make the production qualities drop so drastically for that one segment. The acting, environments and characters were very Joss Whedon like, in a bad way.

On Sunday, Dec. 27, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” became the fastest movie in history to gross $1 billion worldwide. According to boxofficemojo.com, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has a worldwide gross of $1,090,573,329. The milestone came just 12 days after its global release and that does not include the massive Chinese market where the movie is set to release in January.

No more star, no more power. Pretty inefficient to make a multi-gazillion dollar weapon that can only shoot twice!
From what I read the star only temporarily goes dark then recovers when the weapon fires.

Didn't do much, you could have replaced her with another generic officer in this movie.

Hopefully she plays a bigger role in Finn's character development in the next movie, or she was just an excuse to sell a chrome stormtropper merchandise.
Gotta sell the toys. Just Boba Fett 2.0.

Phasma reminded me of Hooper (Sinn) from Frisky Dingo, seemed like the same voice and everything.

Was oddly bright lighting for the inside of the Falcon, now that I think about it.

It makes enough sense to make you think. Ive always wondered how Darth Maul found out they were on Tatooine.

Was anyone else disappointed when Kylo Ren took his mask off and it wasn't Javier Bardem?

His masked voice was straight out of No Country For Old Men

Yes, his voice was so unique I was thinking it had to be someone famous. I was guessing Bardem or Clive Owen.

Worst movie I've seen in years (I don't watch a ton of movies), there's no way I'd have sat through it if I wasn't with friends. Terrible dialogue and acting, paper thin characters with inexplicable motivations, same plot and beats as A New Hope, terribly stupid use of lightsabers (they cut through everything except leather jackets and skin, a Sith Lord with a boo-boo was no match for two complete beginners).

I was expecting this movie to be a soulless, cynical cash grab for Disney, but am honestly shocked it was as bad as it was. Fits right in with the prequels.

Does Kylo only wear his helmet to keep his hair immaculately coifed and blown dry at all times?

You've got some pretty high expectations for "soulless, cynical cash grabs" if the end product is shocking to you, no?

I figured with all the money, adoration and talent being thrown at the project, that some quality movie making would manifest itself. Star Wars has done very well in 3rd party hands before, there was some optimism in me when when i laid down my money.

Some optimism for a soulless, cynical, Disney cash grab?

Sounds to me like you saw exactly what you went in expecting to see.

That movie was not the fruition of anyones artistic vision, it was Disney executives prodding a bunch of artists into making a star wars movie that they could pump money out of. I believe a good movie can come out of anywhere, and I've enjoyed the avenger series which was made for pretty much the same reasons as Star Wars. Reviews were good, i was hoping for good times with Star Wars, instead I got nice looking nonsense.
