Jermain Franklin @TSNJFranklin
"In my book that's the best game Sam Bennett gave us all year" Hartley... Obviously the 19 year old's hard work is not going unnoticed

Maybe he's asked for his release just like Pronger did a decade ago at Christmas.
I think the only message it sends is that he isn't doing everything to win. Just a terrible decision on his part

A few comments from Oilfans.com

Johnny of the hockey stole our lunch money... and gave Schultz a wedgie.

I turned it off after the Stajan shorty, you're getting dominated but are up 3-1 on a PP and you give a goal like THAT up? I've watched too many hockey games to predict what would happen next to I said screw it.

The Oilers are a team that always gives other teams "Firsts" of the year. Canucks hadn't won in OT until last night. Flames no short hand goals until tonight. It drives me frickin crazy they always have these "Firsts" UGGGGGGH

Boy's this play is called a strategic surrender.

A great 1-2 punch from two Oil fans:

Oil Fan 1: Look at our effing defence compared to the flames. Who gives a **** who we have upfront. When you have Schultz nikitin Gryba on the back end... Hamilton Gio Brodie would instantly be a #1 Dman on our roster. Who are we kidding. Garbage team. Change this damn core.

Oil Fan 1: Huh? whats our core got to do with our terrible defensemen?

DERP!

I think the problem here is that you're coming at this from a position of "Good".

This decision is irrational to you, but, from the perspective of "No Good" (i.e. Oilers), the decision makes PERFECT sense.

As opposed to when they had 60 games left and they weren't in control of their destiny?

I know what you're trying to say but when they had that putrid start, "controlling of destiny" was last thing on my mind. They had 60 plus games left, there was always enough time to turn it around.

I mean i'm sure he knew they were going to lose regardless, but the message you're sending to your team by not even trying is an extremely dangerous thing.

Not like I care though, let the oil burn

Serious question. How often do teams throw in it and not pull the goalie like that?

Rob Tychkowski @Sun_Tychkowski
"I'd call it a collapse, yes." - Todd McLellan, on the Oilers collapse.

Todd you n00b. MacTavish hasn't taught you monumental debacle line yet?
