I sense sarcasm but I don't think there's a GM in the league would take leafs over Devils. Larsson >>> Reilly. Schneider >>> anything laughs...you get the idea.

Stamkos just scored 2 goals in 32 seconds to give Tampa the win

You're judging them on having 1 point in only 1 game? seriously?

It's good to know you're just a scoreboard watcher, that'll serve you well in years to come
Had you watched the game with any objectivity, you'd have noticed how utterly braindead Marner was with the puck. Kid thought he was a freaking deity the way he tried to *Continuously* play 1 vs 3-5 during the game, absolutely no hockey IQ on display
I'm mostly just harping on Marner here, having barely paid any attention to Nylander since the draft. But Mitch is a prototypical guy with most (not nearly all) the tools and no box

Are we including prospects? Because the Devils aren't close to the Leafs. Devils have very little in terms of future. They build their offense around aging players. THere's no way a GM takes that aging roster with a team near bankruptcy over the Leafs.
And how Larrson is better than Rielly i'll never know.
Schneider is a top 5 goalie. But they desperately need more upfront.

Devils Ranking" 30th in prospects.
I'm sure all Gms are dying to get the aging team with 34 year-old Mike Cammelari as the top forward and dead-last in prospect pools over the Leafs. LOL.
Stamkos can't wait to join the Devils!

The problem with judging after one game is you'd tell me Timashov is a future franchise player. How do you feel he looks?

Zacha is a star in the making while Nylander and Marner have HUGE question marks.

Don't we already have a thread dedicated to BigTuna delusionally taking on all comers about how the Leafs are the best team in the NHL, Phil Kessel is a god, Toronto's goaltending is unmatched, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc?
I feel like I've read this thread before, and neither version had anything to do with Steven Stamkos.

Then why isn't he ranked higher than either or both? I can't find anyone else who shares that opinion.

Besides Zacha having current NHL size im really not sure how you can make this argument, he hasn't done anymore then Nylander or Marner to prove he is a star in the making. With none of them having a good NHL sample size to make any statements about, both Marner and Nylander are heavily out performing Zacha IMO

Marner:
2015-16 Regular Season London Knights 25 22 36 58
2014-15 Regular Season London Knights 63 44 82 126
Zacha:
2014-15 Sarnia Sting OHL 37 16 18 34 56
2015-16 Sarnia Sting OHL 23 17 13 30 46
As stated, while Nylander never played in the OHL, he does currently lead the AHL in scoring. Marner is leading the OHL.
I can't find a single ranking that has Zacha ahead of Marner before, or after the draft.
http://thehockeywriters.com/hockeys-...nhl-prospects/
Mitch Marner ranked 3rd best prospect. Zacha is #26.
Here's another:
http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospec...2015-16/page/4
Marner #7. Zacha #34.

Laughs prospects. They do well in juniors and minors. Who was the last laughs prospect who turned into a star on the laughs?

Stamkos' agent on the radio today trying to build up his value.
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/s...ontract-talks/
I almost want Stamkos to end up in Calgary just to watch the mass hysteria among Leaf fans who think it's essentially a done deal that he's going to Toronto.

I think the Flames best chance is this.. 1 year at 8.5-9 million and say to him this is an extra year to disprove his bad year this year while still making a nice salary. It would be a long shot, but the only shot the flames would have

No player would sign for that amount of money when he is being offered $70 million plus, which is almost assuredly what teams will be offering him on multi year deals.

Anywhere outside of Toronto would be great. It doesn't need to be Calgary for the mass hysteria to take effect. Montreal would be the best option for maximum hysteria obviously. And I actually think that's a very real possibility.

I'm sorry, but he's not even a career point per game player at age 26. Yeah he scored 60 once, but he is certainly not a 10 million dollar man in my book.
Maybe in Shanahan's book, but not mine.

I think NYR will find a way to get him.
They will pay less than Toronto's offer. He'll be on a contender. In a big market, but where people will leave him alone.
