I didn't like what I saw from McDonald today. He looked too slow on the first goal and that last goal was pretty bad.

While I don't think that's exactly a fair thing to say considering Demko was seriously hampered by hip issues that led to surgery, I will say that McDonald has yet to impress me. This game doesn't help my opinion.

Maybe a loss is what this team needs. They were garbage today. A bunch of solo heroes. Hopefully this gets them playing like a team.

Who was that who shot the puck after the horn? Dumb, cheap thing to do.

Canada is really missing a sublime offensive player this year (or two). Their main offensive weapons are north south type guys in Virtanen and Marner. Not good enough.

I agree but it has to be said this organization has really sucked at drafting goaltenders over the years. We have to hope that's changed recently as the organization really needs to develop a goaltender from within the organization.

Nice to see them not give up at the end there. A young team like this could have just collapsed, but they came right back after going down 2.

Can't wait for the possible rematch.

You keep harping on that line, but did you see the full building for the Finland game? And the mention of the fact that each of the last 3 tournaments have set European host tournament records? And have you never seen the celebrations of the other countries who have won and lost gold?

Watch the goal again, you might see what I mean. I guess you could also say he sorta bobbled it.

I think interest is growing for sure in those countries but it's not like it's front page news like it is in Canada.

I'm not sure that Macdonald deserves too much blame.
Goal 1: Bad bounce
Goal 2: Double screen
Goal 3: Absurd tip by Hicketts
Goal 4: Tip by Point

I mean... the second and fourth ones he maybe could have done a little better but I don't think the game hangs around his neck at all.

Too many Leafs and Canucks on this team.... plus between this game and the pre-tournament games, MacDonald has looked like garbage.

Did the same thing at the end of the 1st. Not impressed by any aspect of Team Canada right now. Both Flames prospects were bad. Man Hickey did a lot of gliding around in his own zone while his partner passed the puck along the boards. Uh, maybe try to get that.

How many other countries have you been to during the tournament?

I think it might be pretty easy to look like garbage behind this team. Worst Canadian team I've seen in at least a decade. Zero team play. None. That kills a goaltender.

Canada barely made a pass attempt and when they did, their passes were brutal. Too many puck hogs.
