Just wanted to say, yes Johnny was great, but the team as a whole was great and dare-I-say dominant.
Monahan went out there determined to win faceoffs, Backlund with the incredible pass to Johnny for the 3rd one, Brodie with a pair of assists and a game-changing mid-air block, Russell with some quick outlets, Hamilton filling that Regehr void just a smidge, Hudler looked sharp, Raymond didn't fall down, Ferland was actually IMO our most notable forward despite Johnny's stat sheet dominance, Gio broke up their cycle quickly, Engelland played well, Granlund and Bennett made good simple plays in limited time, Stajan despite being the sole goat (other than the refs on the Gio interference) drove play, Bouma nad Jones picked up right where they left off in March....and Colborne even scored a goal.

The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!
I don't know, I have a hard time calling Blake Wheeler elite. Very good yes, but I just don't see him as a game breaker.
I agree on Little. He's underrated but to me he's still not a truly elite player.
Top ten in league scoring, a big, skilled, fast and physical winger, pretty much a player every team would love to have. I consider him elite, almost the total package really.

Obviously Gaudreau was great. Bouma had a nice return considering the amount of time he missed. Like others have already said, I think Hamilton's game was FANTASTIC and he was the most physical I've seen him. Monny's dominance in the faceoff dot was also awesome to see. Great way to head into the holidays!
TJ Brodie should be in the Norris discussion, and I think he will be in the years to come. He's fantastic.
As I've said before, I don't see a real difference between Brodie's overall game and Doughty's, other than the fact that Doughty get 2 minutes more icetime per game. And there the difference is due to the Flames' greater depth on the blueline rather than Brodie's inability to play more.
Both guys deserve to be recognized as Norris trophy calibre defensemen.

Sweet game by the Flames - a few moments of carelessness, but either Ramo/Brodie bailed them out or the puck died in the crease.
Ferland was great - though he seems to be under instructions to make a play and then head directly to the bench. Had he not done so at one point, he might have peeled the other way and picked up a loose puck in front of the Jets net - maybe even picking up a goal. That's OK - he keeps it simple and tough, and I like how he's maturing. A bit of a pleasant surprise.
Like someone else said - Bouma gets a pass. A bit rusty, but you can see the desire.
Johnny = unbelievable determination. I don't think that he ever gives up on a puck. Sure, sometimes he overplays it, but there is no one better at loose puck picking. Thought that play was dead, and he makes something out of absolutely nothing. Amazing. We are SO lucky to have him to watch and cheer for.

That was possibly Hudler's best game of the year as well. I really hope he can find his game again, with the way Johnny and Monahan are going you would think it's only a matter of time.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Was meaning to mention this.
Giordano got plenty of attention for his offense over the last couple years, but maybe didn't get the attention he deserved defensively.
His ability to take one stride, and dart in to break up a pass or poke-check a guy was instrumental in him effectively breaking up the cycle on a regular basis.
That jump simply has not been there this year. Not only was the power not there when he tried it, but he was also playing tentatively and wasn't even attempting it much this year.
Lately, he has been more and more. And I thought last night he showed that more than any other game this year.
Hamilton wasn't just good last night, he was great. If he can continue to play like that, and if Giordano can regain his mojo to a similar level to last year, this team is GOOD.

Per @EliasSports: Gaudreau also became first @NHLFlames player to collect multiple hat tricks in a calendar month since Feb 2003 (Iginla: 2)

Although Iggy is my all time favorite player, it would be pretty magical if Johnny got a third hat trick in December. Oilers, Ducks & Kings to finish of December.
Oilers suck and he got his first hatty vs the Kings. Could be interesting, stay tuned.
I just read on flames nation that Wideman played 5 more PP minutes than Dougie last night. I hate to complain after such a nice win, but come on Dougie is lethal in the offensive zone give him more PP time!
