Just so that I am clear on the new draft rules;

Each person has 6 hours to make his/her selection and once that time has passed the draft continues as if the person made his/her choice. The absent drafter is allowed to make his/her choice at any point thereafter.

If the Cornhuskers lose to USC tonight I can only hope the rioting masses spare by my place.

No its actually 3 hours now. And I just realized that computer clock is off so its only be 2 hours since the last pick so Nehkara is still up.

3 hours and then if you jmiss you can pick whenever.

^ Yupp.

PM your picks to either Grant or myself or who ever if you can't make your picks.

Sorry guys but we need to get this thing moving. People are losing interest and I have to get all these names entered into Yahoo.

after this round we will be half way, which will have taken 12 days (assuming this round is completed some time tomorrow).

a quicker pace will indeed help keep people interested.

Sorry, doozwimp. I figured Whitney will likely benefit from Stillman's injury, so he could be in for a good year.

Worth noting that CuJo and Markov were also high on my list. Toskala completely slipped past me because of the Nabokov pick. It didn't register with me that the San Jose goalie picked is the one who looks to be the backup. That will be interesting as the season goes on. Nabokov ahead of Toskala was a bold move for sure.

Thanks for picking for me Jiri.

A couple of bold moves this time around.......I took Toskala, who might be either the #1 or 2 guy in SJ.

And Joe Corvo was a longshot for me.....I have a funny feeling you'll see him and his big shot get a ton of PP time with Redden in Ottawa.

Anyways, I'd picked all forwards until today, had to switch things up.

Just curious Jiri... do you believe Getzlaf will get to 78 points?

No need to say sorry, this is a competition after all. Whitney was one of 3 players that I was thinking of picking. I had about equal desire for all of them.

Good pick. Man, after Jovo, my defence is gonna look WEAK.

Yup including 35 goals.

Though I'm just using that list as a general guideline, not following it to a tee - but I think it is the best one out there.

Salo eh? But how is he going to score without Bertuzzi interfering with the goalie? j/k... I like the pick.

And doozwimp, I'm not sorry for what I did, I'm sorry for what happened.

Lang and Huselius are very good picks this late. I was really hoping I could land Huselius. It was a toss up between him and Stoll. But I went with Stoll cause Edmonton likes to put up points.

Murray was right behind Whitney on my list... should benefit from Savard centreing him, although I hear Savard is a fat Fata with a double chin.

Conroy, Carter, Weight. There goes everyone else I considered at my spot. The quality of forwards after eight rounds is pretty impressive, particularly since there are 20 teams. Still some decent guys left.

What happens if someone isn't paying attention and drafts an extra forward instead of a dman/goalie? Do they choose a player to drop and add the missing piece from the waiver wire?

To reply to kermitiology in this thread...I want two starting goaltenders, rather than one starter and a backup. I dunno how many games he'll win, but he'll get some and that's all that really matters when looking at points.
