Colborne and Raymond are getting PP time. Whatever Hartley is on is ####ing with his head.

Gelinas needs to start earning his paycheck or gtfo.

Ya its been a struggle for them. Not sure if that comes down to coaching/strategy, confidence or the D pairings decision making but some kind of change is needed.

Its painful to watch

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that they dump the friggin puck and chase! What the hell is the purpose of that. We don't do it 5 on 5 so why on the PP? Last year the forward would skate it in, pass to the point and just like that our pp would be setup and ready to do some damage. Its the dumbest thing ever and frustrates the hell out of me. Is Daryl Sutter secretly running the power play?

The team can easily make the playoffs with the worst PP if they improve the PK and continue to score 3 or more goals a game. I find a teams PP has minimal effect on their actual win/loss ratio.

They are on the doorstep with the worst, so of course they can. PK is getting better too.

While that may be true, it's hard to go anywhere in the playoffs without good special teams.

Out number other team in corner, create a cycle, draw opponent out of position, profit!

Only Johnny has the ability to cross the line with speed and carry the puck through the other team's D.

Maybe having Ferland on RW will allow him to detonate the D on his side and carry in.

I like everything more than the stupid 2014/5 drop pass play.

The forwards stop moving their feet and keep getting beat to loose pucks. It's like they don't know what the other forwards are going to do with the puck. So they get caught standing around watching the play.

Zone entry is just laughable. If they mixed some hard around dumps with blueline possession entry, it would make them less predictable.

For this reason, why is Jones not on the PP? I love Ferland on it cause he battles down low, Jones uses his body to get the puck too.

But Raymond and Colborne are just too soft along the boards to win battles.

I agree, I was replying to if the team could make the playoffs with the worst PP, they can but it certainly would punish them in the post season and would not get very far imo.

Bingo made a great point in his Game takes. Gio and these feeble wristers from the point aren't helping matters. Rarely result in scoring chances and often cause a loss of possession.

This is so very wrong... for one we never out number them in the corner because 75 percent of the time you see their goalie play the puck because he has so much time.

Last year our power play involved skating the puck in. Just like EVERY OTHER GOD DAMN TEAM IN THE NHL! More than gaudreau is capable of that.

Once they finally get set up they aren't as bad. So it's the initial offensive zone faceoff (and any others they get), the zone entries and the puck retrieval.

I have never liked having Colborne on the PP. My confidence drops as soon as he's out there.

I also think the loss of Byron has affected our PK.

Yes, they can if they continue to move up in terms of 5 on 5 play. Highly doubt they'll finish the season last on the PP though. Too much talent on this team to finish last after the season, it's just confidence right now.

I actually disagree. If you look back at AC's video montages from last year, many of Calgary's goals last year were either from smart Giordano wristers that create rebounds or go in themselves. He's a smart player, you don't always need to unleash a bomb to score and Giordano knows that.

The power play looked a lot better tonight, the puck is passing around nicely and they are actually getting chances and scored on one of them.

I'm more worried about the PK than the PP but geez Louise. How can this group of guys not score on the PP? With a magician like Johnny, they should be top 5 PP and not because they rely solely on him, because he had good tools to work with... but they're all just looking like tools on the PP.

See what I did there?

But fortunately, due to their division, they can make the playoffs with this putrid PP%. Lucky year if they do though.
