He is doing pretty well... going off the NHL.com stats he has a 50.72 SAT rating and a 4.1 SAT relative... so he's doing better than any player other than Bouma.

One thing that I've noticed is that he takes a ton of ineffective shots from just inside the blueline on the rush with no one going to the net. I don't like that because it makes his possession game look better while actually surrendering the puck to the other team with no threat of an actual scoring chance happening.

When is Wideman going to score a goal. Still hasn't got one this year.

OMG, please someone turn off Colby Armstrong's mic. Drunk guys at the bar offer better insight on hockey.

It feels like he hasn't even gotten a puck on net all year. His shots have been getting blocked, deflected, or have just straight up missed the net all year.

Yeah, there are a few wonky scenarios every once and a while.

I remember when Iggy was knocked down in a game in STL in front of the net and a point shot got through hitting Iggy in the glove before going in.

Iggy was trying to get up at the time the puck hit his glove, with his back to the shot so he obviously had no idea the puck was coming.

They ruled it a good goal for the Flames.

Ok fine, I'll crack a beer to help get the Flames going.
Here's to playing better the next 40 minutes.

Afternoon weekend games are the worst. Actually, correction... Afternoon weekend games against the team that owns you every year are the worst.

DeBrusk is exactly right - the way to stop the Flames is attack them at their own blue-line, before they can generate speed in the neutral zone.
Every team that is aggressive at the Flames' blue-line causes them fits.

Some coaching is the answer when a team is owning your current strategy.

 Edit: and clogging the middle

And those are the only opponents we seem to draw on afternoon games. It's always been Chicago, St. Louis, Boston... Which is why I think Flames fans have become pessimistic about these games.

Yup. Hitchcock had the Flames figured out a couple seasons ago and Hartley hasn't figured out a different strategy against them. Plus, in general, the Blues' size and defensive acumen is a really poor match for the Flames.

Isn't Roger a little old for that haircut? Seems like he's trying just a bit too hard.

I've changed my seat, and opened an 8.5% beer. If this doesn't help there isn't much more I can do.

So, if Bennett had potted his 2 chances and Wideman had potted his as well as Raymond not hitting the crossbar, we'd be up 4 to 2. If pigs could fly....
