The commentators don't even know the rule... it doesn't matter if it bounces off all 5 Flames and goes in, what matters is the action of the Blues player, whether he kicked it in or high sticked.

Good. I don't like the rule anyway, players might as well start swinging at everything above their heads hoping it hits an opposing player.
edit: apparently it's not a rule, thought York knew what he was talking about.

No, because it was "shot" with a high stick.
If Steen had highsticked the puck down and the ref ruled Monahan had possession before misplaying it into his net they could legitimately count it.
Same as if Steen had try to glove it down to his own stick. If its never possessed by a Flame but just gets gloved off one, its no goal. If a Flame takes possession and puts it in somehow, its a goal.
