I feel like Jones isn't skating very hard right now, wouldn't mind seeing someone else up with Monahan and Gaudreau and see if we can get something going.

This Ferland-Stajan-Colborne line is playing very well today.

Backlund is playing pretty terribly so far. Bit of a turnover machine.

Jooris looked good on that line last game.

The Flames are playing a lot better. Just a matter of time for a goal.

Also, the Jooris partial breakaway.

I wonder if people are just looking to be negative sometimes.

Except for getting exposed on the second goal....They've had one good shift.

Pace is better now. Flames aren't sustaining pressure or anything but neither are the Blues

We're doing a lot better at keeping possession right now. Just need to start doing something with it.

They won last game against a better team (in the standings). But if they lose this they failed the measuring stick?

Should seem pretty obvious that you're going to win some games and not others.

It's no more a measuring stick than every other game is.

trade for one ?

Well, IMHO one thing is clear - Russel-Hamilton is not a long-term solution for the 2nd pairing. Our top 4 is all about offense and it's being exposed by big physical teams.

btw. Colborne - Stajan - Ferland our best line so far

Yeah it looks like they have gotten up to game speed now. Let's get some sustained pressure before the end of the period and get some momentum for period 2.

Does Mikael Backlund have good advanced stats this year?

He's looked so poor.

I really, really hope the Blues are bounced in the first round again and blow it up. So sick of playing this team.

I hear ya. Apparently both Flames fans in the city of Vancouver are upset about it.

No, not really. They've had several good shifts. Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered mentioning it.

If you want to talk about being exposed, it was pretty much Brodie by himself on that Parayko goal. Quite frankly though, I don't blame him as how could you expect that from a 6'6" defenseman. It was a nice play by Parayko more than anything.
