Sure, but we're not talking about any belief. We're talking about this one. If you want to start a thread about the number of NDP nutters who are anti-GMO, be my guest.

Please show me where anyone in that party is vocally or social media backing Trumps views, or saying, that Trump is onto something that the Conservative Party would like to replicate

Why is that relevant?

The first line of the OP says that you think very real segments of the CPC agree with Trump, while Rona Ambrose unequivocally stated the CPC doesn't associate or agree with Trump at all.
Then your subsequent posts back track that statement when you were called on it.

Its entirely relevant when you're talking about expelling members of a party because of this poll of voters.
your trying to make a link to a party when the poll is based abound not party members but voters.

Have to agree with CaptainCrunch. On first read I thought we were talking about the Conservative Party, not conservative voters.

Segments of Conservative voters and membership are not the same as CPC leadership or MPs, although they do have the ability to influence CPC policy.

Right, I'm saying that the CPC should be trying to move away from catering to this segment of their base. Are you denying that this segment of social regressives exists? Did we not see numerous examples of the CPC trying to mobilize this segment during the election campaign?
For the record, I think it's good that Ambrose has come out against what Trump has said and is trying to distance the party away from that sentiment, but my opinion is they need to keep moving in that direction. I'm very interested in what happens in the CPC leadership race because it will be telling of how much of a hold that segment still has on shaping party policy.

Alright, well then I'll apologize for that if it came across as misleading. Would Conservative voters have been a better title?

If 33% of Canadians support trumps view that Muslims should not be allowed in is pretty brutal.
Who cares about the 55% of Canadians conservatives part. What it really shows is that a large minority of Canadians across the political spectrum agree with trump.
That is disgusting.
1 in 5 liberal and NDP voters support trumps ban on Muslims.

Which is the other aspect of it. It's actually probably even more depressing that some 20-25% of Liberal and NDP voters agree with Trump because they're supposed to represent the progressive vote.

Sorry, but Liberal is hardly progressive. They're as middle of the road as it gets, they cast a wide wide net to get votes.

Yes, well I was more referring to how the party was trying to frame itself during the campaign.

It's all good no need to apologize. Just stating I read it the same way.
As for myself, I consider myself conservative and think Trump is a loony toon.

This shouldn't be even published. It's an Internet poll with no discussion on how the sample was controlled to be representative.

I would start by not capitalizing "conservatives". Small-c is generally the political leaning, big-C is the party.

Yeah, see I was trying to not implicate people who consider themselves conservative but didn't vote for the party in the election.

I really hope Canada doesn't go the way of the U.S. and regard political affiliation as an identity, rather than a choice made at an election. One of the most toxic things about the U.S. is how people are regarded as 'Republicans' or 'Democrats.' That has not been the tradition in Canada, where people don't have to self-identify with a party in order to vote, and where political identity and choices are fluid (and usually private).
