On December 1, the Flames were tied for last overall and 8 points out a playoff spot. Today, they are in a playoff spot, and closer to a home ice playoff position than last place.

With Columbus's win tonight, Anaheim is tied for last overall.

If the Flames win against St. Louis on Saturday night they will be tied for the second longest win streak in franchise history at eight games. The longest win streak is 10 games set back in 78/79 (Oct 14 to Nov 3rd, 1978). Their longest unbeaten streak is 13 games in Nov/Dec 1988.

Boy, I had to go check because I thought the Ducks traded the 2016 1st. But nope, they gonna tank for Matthews.

But, Let's not go crazy with payoff love just yet, this season looks to be like it's going to be a turbulent roll through the standings up and down.

You know who had a great game tonight? Micheal Ferland. He was looking a lot more like the player we saw versus the Canucks in the playoffs. Finishing multiple big checks on Klingberg, causing turnovers. More of that please!

nvm... bad teams do bad things, but too many beers made that statement seem way worse then in reality it was! LOL! *somehow envisioned "shots" instead of "goals against"...

.. goes to get another beer! Good thing I don't work tomorrow!

Made some great plays too. Was more than just a pest, he looked like a skilled pest.

We are competing against Arizona and Edmonton. Playoff love? We're going to have to try not to make it, 84 points might be enough.

In the last 3 games since Kris Russell returned from injury, he's put up 5 points and is a +8. He's come back a whole new man.

A damn good game. Outside of the first 10 mins you couldn't ask for a better game from this team . It was really one of the best games so far.

Hopefully you have GCL to rewatch it. It was a fie game of Hockey.

This was the team I was expecting at the start of the year. Solid team defense, hard forecheck, solid goaltending, and everyone working hard

It is so encouraging how our d-core has found its mojo. Gio is back in form, Hamilton has his confidence going, Russell has been much better and Brodie has just been incredible since his hand injury. Wideman, Engelland and Smid have all been serviceable as well.

Went out in Sherwood park tonight. They had toronto/San Jose on half the tv's and Edmonton on the others. I miss like 2 or 3 games a year, frustrating to miss a good win.

Is Ferland/Stajan/Colborne our new premier shut down line?

Any chance they keep Jooris on the top line for another game?

And with two goals in his last three games, are the floodgates open for Mason Raymond?

So much to like right now... Ramo playing lights out, Russell with five points and a +8 in his last three games.
