I don't have a cell phone, partially because I don't feel like being extorted. I do have Shaw at home, mostly because Telus are slimy creatons. So with Shaw Go Wifi, a texting app and Fongo for free calls I get by. If Shaw provides a reasonably priced add-on to my home package I may consider a sim card. Maybe.

Everyone to Koodo! Is that the only 'cheap' option left?

I'd say Fido is still relatively cheap... it was at least on par with what Koodo was offering.

Telus is already the MTS or Sasktel of Alberta.

What?

I get 15GB of data, unlimited everything else for $65 per month with MTS.

The data is actually limited by they throttle you at 15GB.

Isn't Koodoo telus and Fido Rogers? Pay their left pocket or their right, your call.

Yes, and Virgin is Bell. Anytime I've ever looked, their rates were all basically the same unless you happened to find some incredible promotional package (which, I'm sure the others would match if you asked).

Hmm... I tried doing a buildmyplan where I first moved here (only a few months ago) and just now and it comes out to more expensive than going with Koodoo or Rogers. Maybe I'm not doing it right?

I am on a corporate plan, but when I do buildmyplan I get Canada wide unlimited data, 200 min per month, and caller ID, voicemail for $60 per month.

For $65 you can get 500 min, or 200 min with Canada wide mobile hotspot.

Hell of a deal compared to what other people are paying.

I'm on a corporate plan, so I pay $10 less than residential customers. My company pays the $10 per month warranty policy I think.
