Seeing it in 8 hours.
I'm probably going to cave and go full fanboy in full jedi costume.

I decided to go on to IMDB today to see how it is doing and accidentally read a spoiler in the viewer review. It has since been removed, but some of the message board thread titles at the bottom of the page have spoilers in them... just a warning.
I like Star Wars and will see the new movies eventually, although I am not a fanatic so won't being lining up early. I am getting more pumped after reading some of the reviews though. The impression I am getting is that while some of the plot elements are recycled (well duh), it stands on its own as a being a good movie and not just a good "Star Wars" movie.
I think that is what Episodes 1-3 were missing. They are ok for Star Wars fans, but as stand alone movies, they were kind of bad IMO.

Got my Han Solo costume ready last night. T-minus 11.5 hours to nerd out more than I ever have.

The people posting about costumes, are you seriously dressing up?? That is just way beyond my comprehension.

Why not?
Why dress up for Halloween?
Why dress up for theme parties?
Why dress up for Comic-Con?
Who cares?

I don't really care, I just can't tell if people are serious or not. I'm not a dress up for any of those things kinda guy, so it just blows my mind people would dress up for a movie.

Replace that with any of the above things in my post. There's no way to explain why.
I went to special screening of The Dark Knight Rises where they played Batman Begins and The Dark Knight back to back before the midnight screening. Was the first and only time I dressed up for a movie and it was an awesome time. Being in costume just adds to the anticipation and excitement I guess. Figured Star Wars deserved that treatment. Plus I have a Star Wars themed party on Saturday, so might as well. Don't see wearing a costume to the movie as any different than wearing it to a party.
Watched A New Hope on Tuesday, Empire Strikes Back last night, and will try to squeeze in Return of the Jedi today before the movie tonight.

Well when you wait 10 years for something
Actually in my case, basically my whole life, as the prequels just never did it for me, and the OT was a few years before my time which is the case for a lot of people under 30 who wished they could've been part of the OT when it was being released. Well this is our chance to be part of a new SW and it being opening day why not go all out with the fun when you have an excuse to?
It's actually more than a movie for a lot of people. It's almost a celebration of/reunion with their childhood.

Don's Hobby Shop or Chuckles have a bunch of different SW costumes for anywhere between $40-90 ..if you feel inclined.

I'm kinda weird...
I scoff at guys who have those cheap ass looking costumes. Like omg buddy spend the dough to get something that looks decent.
But then I turn around and don't wanna spend the big dough on a costume, but I don't want the cheap looking one either lol.
Oh, me. So silly sometimes.
