Well sure, the realtors are gonna move to other offices and all. The real story is that 163 realtors couldn’t generate enough sales to keep the office running. This was the largest RLP branch in the region.

I guess maybe this should have gone to the real estate threads instead. Interesting story none the less.

That's not the least bit factual of a statement at this point in time.

Are you just saying there could be a million reasons why a branch closes, and low sales is only one?

When I read the story I assumed there wasn't enough sales.... but I truthfully don't know how these branches operate.

Quote from the article implies that the slowdown played a role. Obviously they won't come out and flat out say that it was just that, but the timing and all add up.

“The economy may have played a role in increasing stress over the past year on Royal LePage Foothills, but today’s situation is attributable to the performance of this individual business.

My realtor works out of that office. He says there is a lot of misinformation out there. Basically it is business as usual for all the realtors involved.

Just curious, if they're actually bankrupt would that hold up deals where they are holding the buyers deposit in their trust account?

I've never liked giving deposits to the sellers realtor (I strongly prefer deposits to lawyers) but it seems to be the standard.
