I've had five play throughs of Dead of Winter now and I can honestly say it's one of the best tabletop experiences I've had. The group interaction during it is amazing. Because you're all working towards a common goal as well as secret second objective of your own; trying to fulfill that second objective can often seem as though you're the 'betrayer' so the constant suspicion of each other is hilarious.
I know there are a few people that play X-Wing around here so I am hoping you can help out with a bit of advice. A friend and I recently got into the game. Picked up a core set each and yesterday he bought Rebel Aces while I got another Tie Fighter and one Tie Interceptor.
I got completely beat down and it wasn't even close.
I fielded Soontir Fel, Howlrunner, Mauler Mithel, Backstabber and Winged Gundark. I am thinking that I should have taken 3 less experienced Tie pilots so I could have had one more Tie Fighter. Soontir Fel was far and away my best unit but he just couldn't do enough on his own. Those Ties had a tough time inflicting any sort of damage. Howlrunner seems great except she got blown away during the first pass. My Ties scattered after that and they were picked off by his B-Wing. In retrospect I probably should have swarmed his B-Wing.
At any rate, as an Imperial player I am curious as to what I should get next. I am thinking either a Firespray, Imperial Aces or a Decimator. My buddy is probably going to get the Falcon and an X-Wing. I hear the Falcon's turret is an Interceptor's nightmare.

A small company in Lennoxville QC came out with a board game called Gamblemania back in the early 90's. Quite easily the best board game I ever played. Pretty much a casino on a board.
Spoiler!
It was really fun. Still is as my mom has amazingly kept her copy in really good condition.
Strange list. By all accounts, Myth is a turkey, and a poster boy for the perils of Kickstarter.
I'll be trying the new edition of Fief over Christmas. It certainly is handsome looking. I do wonder how a game that originally designed in 1981 will hold up.
My favourites from 2015 are Triumph & Tragedy and Pax Pamir. But I'm still working through my stack of 2014 games. Too many games, not enough time.

I played One Night Ultimate Werewolf a month ago. It's a fun party game that doesn't last too long or take up too much time. You don't even have to explain the rules as the app will tell each person what to do and when to do it.
I haven't had the opportunity to play many new games this year as my friends and I have been fully sucked into X-Wing. I love it. There are so many combinations of ships and pilots that every match can play out differently. Just a couple of weeks ago I won using a Decimator & Lambda. I think we'll be getting into the epic ships pretty soon and I am interested to see how those change the dynamic of game.
We are getting into some Catan this Saturday after Star Wars, I was looking at picking up Imperial Assault but it is a bit pricey.. great reviews at Board Game Geeks. Anyone here tried it out and want to share their thoughts?
