GOt home from work and watched the Jets'/Hawks game on the DVR
The 'Hawk TEAM D was stellar, and limited the Jets to the perimeter...and shut down the Jet PP...Rundblad had an awful giveaway with a blind pass to the slot...TVR had an awful turnover when he was spun down...luckily Crawford was tracking well tonight.
Not impressed much by Bickell and at 6:45 he was limited by so much special teams' play.
Buff, a lost love of many 'Hawk fans (but, not this one) grabbed some bench in the 2nd after his 2nd penalty...Jets' discipline was bad, as usual.
5 on 5 there was little flow, and few chances.
last night was a clunker against a hot goalie in Rinne...but a team, even a good team, which we Chicago fans have, will have a couple of those a season...I am somewhat amused by the handwringing in yesterday's thread on some 'Hawk boards. The team came out flat, got beaten early, but owned the puck in the last 2 periods, and were stymied by a goaltender that can stymie a lot of teams.
But, back to tonight, Hellybuck was also hot coming into this game, and made some nice stops...but in the end it was the indiscipline that cost the Jets, and the 'Hawk PP/PK was better than the Jets'.
Toews scored a PPG on a goalmouth scramble where Shaw, Hossa, and Toews, all had inside position, and a whack at the puck, 5 feet from the goal line.
Kane hit a seeing eye one timer, also on the PP, with a lovely cross ice feed from Teravainen, Rundblad got the secondary A.
Crawford gets the SO, but was only truly challenged on a handful of shots.
