Hearing that the Canadiens will put Alex Semin on waivers. Hasn't worked out.

That didn't last long. Hopefully their decision isn't premature.....

Hmm, that's interesting. Wonder if the Flames would have any interest in claiming Semin as a reclamation project. If he doesn't work out, can always just throw him on waivers again.

Yeah I hope treliving doesn't bite on trying a third time reclamation project, pretty obvious this guy has nothing to offer in the NHL anymore

Semin is the last thing the Flames need during fragile times. He gives no effort whatsoever.

On a day where the Flames are last in the NHL and there's little to no news of value I'm glad something like this happened just to hear all the Semin jokes.
If the Flames picked him up and he became an all star again, I don't know if I'd want to get Semin on my jersey...

He had a question mark over him with the Hurricanes, he didn't perform as a project in Montreal, so not sure why it would go any differently for the Flames? I would think he is bound for Europe.

If Montreal agreed to a Semin for Raymond trade, would you guys do it? Lol, I think I would just Raymond off the books for next year, but it'd be a little iffy.

I would entertain that. $2 million goes a long way for next year.

no way the habs or anyone else would take Raymond with term left on his contract.

No brainer for Calgary to accept that trade.

Once you have Semin on your team things get sticky. I would prefer sticky over Raymond though.

A team who is having trouble scoring right now is waiving a guy who is supposed to be scoring goals. His NHL career is over.

Not that I am for claiming him but you have to wonder if a guy with unbelievable set up skill like Gaudreau could revive this guy. It isn't like he forgot how to shoot.

Did he get hurt along the way like Cheechoo did or something? How did his production drop like that?

The guy just doesn't care. His give a crap meter is below zero. When he was scratched in Montreal he'd do smart things like skip the optional skate. If you're on the bubble, you're at every one of those skates. When he was playing, he was always making lazy plays, getting dumb penalties, etc.

I read a while back somewhere that Semin hasn't been the same since he injured his wrist in Carolina. Maybe that is why he is so unproductive now? IF that was indeed true, then claiming him and putting him with Gaudreau and Monahan would just be an exercise in futility.
If his wrist is fine, then MAYBE he can be a bet as a reclamation project. Either way, I bet he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Oh hell no I don't wonder at all. The last thing the team needs is a lazy Russian winger. His existence as a hockey player goes against everything the team preaches.
