Alabama still has LSU this weekend and an away game at Mississippi State too. Plus the Iron Bowl is at Auburn this year and will still be tough. Kicking the crap out of Georgia has unfortunately lost a lot of lustre in the past few weeks, but there's also a beating they handed down in College Station. It will be a good resume if they win out.

So MSU took out OSU to take control of the Big Ten - and with the Michigan game still to play, two Buckeyes have announced they are done:

Urb basically has turned that program into the equivalent of Kentucky Basketball. In and out.

What's the over and under of when Les Miles loses his job? LSU looked crappy against Ole Miss tonight... 3 straight losses for LSU

How was there ever a QB battle between Mayfield and Knight before the season started? Mayfield is the heart and soul of that team.

Crazy how much better Mayfield is than Trevor Knight. How Knight pulled that Bama win is beyond me. Im not sure why Baylor went for 2. They clearly were clicking and OU's offense struggled all 2nd half, sans the 80yd run my Perine. I was biting my nails and am glad we came away with a win. Too bad OSU couldn't beat Baylor. Hopefully Mayfield is back next year against Okie St. And here's hoping wins over Baylor, TCU, and OSU can get OU into the playoff.

Because Stoops had no idea Mayfield was coming! He simply showed up.

I know it doesn't matter but that is untrue. Baker decided to transfer to OU in December of 2013. Stoops knew about as there was a whole ordeal leading up to it. Tech blocking communication w/ Big 12 schools, an appeal, and some other things. I still don't know how this Spring there was a controversy. Baker Mayfield is far and away a better QB than Knight.

Apparently he's going to lose his job. Gotta imagine Miami and USC will be fighting each other for him (assuming the NFL doesn't come calling first)
Quote:
There is "a very good possibility" that the LSU Tigers will buy out Les Miles' contract, a high-ranking source involved in the decision regarding the coach's future told ESPN on Monday.
"In Louisiana, we expect national championships, and we're not in it," the source said, adding that meetings are occurring Monday that could lead to a quick resolution.
A failure to beat Alabama and what is believed to be an underachieving, vanilla offense are major factors, according to the source.
The Tigers (7-3, 4-3) are coming off consecutive losses to Alabama, Arkansas and Ole Miss -- the first time the program has lost three in a row since 1999. LSU, which dropped out of the Associated Press poll on Sunday, also was unranked at the end of the 2014 season.
LSU hosts Texas A&M on Friday.
Boosters have already agreed to pay the $15 million to $20 million needed to buy out Miles and his staff, the source said.

Second highest buyout ever after Charlie Weis.

Looks like Les Miles will not be losing his job. Maybe next year.
Miami's already interviewed Richt. Former player and a far better coach than Golden was. Keeping Georgia constantly competitive in the SEC he'd probably run roughshod through the ACC. ESPN reported Miami has also interviewed Butch Davis (back to the well once more?), Dan Mullen (I know nothing about him), and Greg Schiano (noooooooooo).

Heck of a job by Florida's D today, can't help but feel for a group like that who is playing their heart out and just can't get any help but their O (or special teams for that matter).

Really?
They gave up 27 pts and well over 400 yds of offense. Meanwhile special teams scored half their points although they did surrender that safety and had a FG blocked.
I think this game illustrated better than any how truly over rated the SEC was this year.
There is Alabama...and then the rest.

They also singlehandedly kept their offence in the game for almost 3 full quarters while the Florida offence went 3&out time and time again.
They held Alabama to 437 yards and 4.0 YPC which is pretty darn impressive considering their D was on the field for 43.5 minutes. They showed very well today.
Special teams wise, the Gators covered really well, especially on punts, but giving up 2 points on the blocked punt early and then having the FG blocked shortly after simply can't happen in a game like that where you are a big underdog. As you said, it's Bama and everyone else, you can't give them breaks like that to beat them.
