You forgot to add that when Prentice said "look in the mirror" he was doing it from a clean slate, and trying to fix his party's previous errors. Did he handle his message delivering tactfully? No. But he told Albertan's we needed all those things you mentioned above, yet the response from your generation was to pout like he took your favorite toy away and vote in Rachel Notley and the NDP amateur hour party.

I thought this thread was about analyzing and discussing the policies and actions of the people who are in power right now, who have the ability to influence things, what they are going to do about our current situation.

Currently their solution is to tell Albertans to GTFO.

We all know the PCs werent getting it done to anyone's satisfaction, thanks for the heads up tips, its almost like no one noticed and didnt elect the polar opposite party into power. Thankfully though Resurrection and Polak are here to ride to the rescue and tell us these things!

I remember a similar reaction to Prentice's comment across the Province as to the reaction McCuaig-Boyd is getting.

And how many jobs does that save right now? My guess is close to zero. The reason for these job losses is not because of the NDP being in power but because of oil prices. People that don't like the current government are going to complain about anything.

Similar to the farmers being up in arms over bill 6, wouldn't it be great if I could have my 12 year old boy come out and run a back hoe for me at the construction site I'm on. I wouldn't have to pay him and the guy on the shovel I can simply pay under the table. They get hurt......too bad.

I haven't seen a Farmer complain about the 7 billion the have been given by the Federal government over the past 20 years, but to be treated like an employer when you employ some is just too much.

You NDP haters are hilarious. The Cons screw everything up and it's the NDP to blame. Might be best if you don't like the government to move yourself to a different province, Alberta really doesn't need whiners like you.

Fixing his party by blaming Albertans was the worst thing he could possibly do.

The NDP was elected with a majority in this province, and you're blaming "our generation?"

I'm going to blame "your generation" for 44 years of bad provincial politics.

Clean slate? You don't get a clean slate after 40 years of power and a recent scandal from which the ex-premier didn't survive. "My generation" as you so eloquently put it (I'm assuming you just mean NDP voters, since tons of people my age did not vote NDP) did not trust that party to lead anymore. All those poor choices made since the 90's don't just get erased cause you pen a little speech calling out your electorate.

Amatuer hour party? You know why it's an amatuer hour party? Because the PC's were able to run show for 40 years and drive this province into the ground. Anyone other than the PC's would've been amatuer hour and more of the same was definitely not the answer.

Locke is right though, blaming the PC's isn't going to help us much. There is no blame game to be played. All we can do is bear down and wait for a recovery and then hope that the industry learns it's lesson from this bust and the government, ANY government can present some sort of plan for a stable economy. Even if that stability costs us our high flying "Alberta Advantage" life style.

Those darn millennials. It's their fault for voting in the NDP and not the PC's for ####ing up for 4 decades.

I'm curious, is there actual data out there showing that the NDP landslide win across the province was a generational thing? And if so, is this now a "you damn youngins don't know what you done now" argument that will go along with the "Thanks NDP!" slogan?

I completely agree. Conservatives have no idea how to spend wisely when they do have money, NDP have no idea how to do it without.

I don't know how you marry the ideas of strong fiscal management and strong social programs in Alberta. None of the three major parties are anywhere close to where they need to be to run this province. Conservatives screwed us, NDP aren't experienced enough to fix it, and Wildrose seem completely inept even as the opposition.

People aren't wrong when they say the NDP are somewhat laughable right now, they have no experience and it's showing, it's going to be a hard road. The only comfort supporters should take is that both the Conservatives and the Wildrose are no less a joke.

Elections Alberta doesn't file the #s, but it seems general analysis points to all demos swinging NDP (with the exception of major rural holdings):

The Wildrose have been doing an awful job carrying the ball as Opposition Party. They should be hammering the party on pipelines every chance they get. Start exposing how far they have extended their mandate.

And? I'm not going to spend all day googling demographics related to a 7 month old election.

They would have to wake up early to do that...

If we have to swing back conservative next election, can we vote in a party that isn't full of incompetent #######s, like the Alberta Party?

Comical that NDP supporters say that they can't be blamed for any of this because of oil prices are down and the PC's screwed everything up. It's almost like it's impossible to make a bad situation worse with poorly thought out job killing policies or something. The PC's had a lot of problems and the NDP haven't fixed any of them.

PC:
- Overspending
- No savings
- Corruption and cronyism

NDP:
- Spending even more
- No savings
- Incompetence

At least the PC's were reasonably good with the economy, right now we have the gang that couldn't shoot straight.
