Try this.
Let's say Trudeau told Canadians to leave the country to find work, that they could maybe come back home to Cansda later, that the government had no clue and no plan to grow/'fix' the broken economy, that we just needed to hunker down and hope for the best.

Would this be a good position to present on behalf of Canada and Canadians?

Sound like a pretty free market capitalist statement...I'd rather that statement than an announcement of some market distorting hare-brained economic development plan that prevents Alberta's economy from evolving.

Huh? Way to butcher his words. He said to maybe find work in BC until things get better. Aren't people already talking about finding work in other provinces until things pick up here again?? Plenty of talk about that in the layoff thread as well as with dozens of people I've spoken to.

But NDP sucks I guess, right?

Yeah, no. That's not why they were sent on a bus. It was because he was providing welfare recipients with a one-way ticket home, many of which went to B.C. It was essentially an action cog in his slash-and-burn strategy to cut down on lower-income welfare recipients residing in Alberta and living off the government teet.

I have no axe to grind with the NDP. My business actually benefits from a lot of their infrastructure spending.

That's the message he's sending though, and from a business standpoint it's a bad one.

Pretty much the messaging is "Abandon hope all ye who enter here"

Its a stupid answer to a question about what the NDP's strategy is over job loss, and makes her look, no wait confirms that this NDP government is in way over its head.

Well if you actually read what I wrote before jumping to conclusions, I said the government's job is to create a suitable environment for job creation. Not directly create jobs. I am definitely a fiscal conservative, but I am definitely not a hypocrite. I don't give a rats ass who is governing if they govern with fiscally conservative policies.

Things like allowing pipelines to be built would help the Alberta economy. NOTE: this is not "fixing" private industry. This is allowing private industry to do their work, and betters the job creation environment. Reducing corporate tax benefits job creation.

I currently have no vested interest in the Alberta economy other than my parents living there and I used to live there, so I have no reason to have a political agenda. I'd just rather see Alberta and Canada flourish. I think the NDP's statement sends the wrong message. Where's the "we will get through this together as Albertans" message?

One of the biggest jobs of a government is to inspire confidence. They are supposed to be the ones that have the plan, or at least thoughts on how to manage the province or the country.

This message inspires no confidence that they have any idea of how to fix or improve things.

Its the whole message of "There's nothing here for you now, hopefully when things improve you can come back"

Not, this is what we're doing, this is what people without work can look forward to, this is our plan.

It was more along the lines of "Get Out" in an Arnold accent.

The NDP has done very little to inspire confidence or trust and that's the broken tenant of government.

Brace yourself for some really, really, really tough times ahead.

This is truly a perfect storm of Energy prices in the toilet and leadership that has no clue, both Federal and Provincial. Very sad.

That the government has no plan for the future of the province and the best thing to do is leave and pay taxes elsewhere.

The ndp is well on there way to decimating the energy sector instead of trying to improve a bad situation.
