Default Outdoor Rinks in Calgary

Hey guys, anyone know of any ODR's open in Calgary? I'm coming home from Lethbridge for the weekend and would love to get out at some point. Thanks!

I wouldn't think so. It has been too warm over the past week for ice. On rink started flooding about 2 weeks ago but it was a really think layer and it is probably no good at this point.

Queensland has their rink open. I've heard people out playing hockey for the last three or four nights but I haven't been myself so I don't know what the ice is like. It has been warm, but still gets plenty cold over night (it was -7 this morning).

There use to be a nice one in Douglas Dale, but that was years ago.

I don't know if it is still in operation.

Elbow park, south calgary field, richmond knob hill school all have ice with boards and are flooded.

I don't know how they held up today though, it may even be above zero tonight..

Our community rink (Varsity) is still closed. I checked it out this afternoon and they have a thin layer of ice but have signs up saying that they are still flooding.

Went by Stanley Park tonight and ice looked decent. We will see how it fairs over the next couple days.

in the deep SE last night, it was about +4. i doubt that many community centers are putting in a lot of effort to make/maintain outdoor ice right now

I skated on the Cranston rink last night. We have a cooling plant at our outdoor rink so even when the temp rises the ice is pretty decent.

I went for a spin there this afternoon - ice was great all things considered.
